Kindly State University - School is back in session
Filed under: Video, Culture, Second Life, Machinima, Roleplaying
In order to prevent griefing, you must apply for admission to their closed-access group, which charges a 200L tuition fee to join. There are many perks to joining the group, though, such as clothing, picture frame HUDs, and posters of the school mascot, the Kodiak. You can find the official rules for admission and event notices on the Kindly State website.

Some of the loving touches you'll likely notice are the Greek Row, pizza place, bookstore, library, and dorms. There are even roleplay blogs run by Jellybean Madison (who made the Machinima above), Catero Revolution, TheDiva Rockin, and Sofia Gray, among others. If you are interested in the academic side, you can also check out their class schedule.

Less SL said on 4:25PM 11-19-2007
There's way too many Second Life posts on this site. Second Life is not a game, it is a chat program with lots of graphics. For the love of god, please, less SL posts. I am tired of having to scroll past so many of them, and if anything is going to be a barrier to my reading this site regularly, it will be that.
Check out the number of posts listed on the sidebar. As of this post: 178 SL posts. Next closest, WoW (no surprise) at 84.
Arg. If there was less SL I could live with it. But really with the way things are now, this blog should be called "Mostly SL, and Some MMOs Too".

Please be aware that cutting & pasting the same thing on multiple posts is considered spamming and we don' take too kindly to that typ-a postin' 'round these parts. As I see you're a cross-over from WI (your alias here ties into your login across the entire network) I'd ask you to please respect this guideline. There are readers here who do like the SL coverage, and it is, strictly speaking a Massively Multiplayer Online system.
I would point out that we have made RSS feeds available on the sidebar for each and every category, MMO, sub-category for news, etc. That way everyone can tailor topics that are of interest to them. Just click, and you're good to go -- or pick and choose your favorites for your newsreader! Massively, your way. Beats a cheeseburger, no?
So if you'd rather not read about SL, I ask that you please simply skip these posts, use the feeds on the side, or even better still -- check out the "Yesterday on Massively" posts. That will enable you to only ever have to see the headlines on SL posts while still giving you full access to everything else. You can reach those by pointing your browser at:

Thanks!

I would say to prevent important items from scrolling off the homepage too fast, I would follow the example of popular blogs.
Don't post less, just don't make all the SL posts visible on the homepage. So the SL fans can still get a full day's news, but not hog the front page.
I myself am getting more interested in Eve, thanks to massively, and tend to click on the http://www.massively.com/category/eve-online link to filter out some of the junk.
