Linden Lab on Battery
Filed under: MMO industry, News items, Second Life

You may recall that earlier this year (May 12) Linden Lab split their Sansome Street, San Francisco office in two, moving roughly half of their staff to the office around the corner in Battery Street, all observed by curious San Francisco residents.
Well, the operation in the larger office in Battery Street seems to have expanded. Today, we received a letter from Linden Lab telling us that their Sansome Street office had closed, effective immediately and that all deliveries, post, and walk-in visits be directed to the new Battery Street office.
Interestingly, all of the Accounts Payable seems to have moved to Issaquah, Washington. A quick bit of patented Massively research by our dutiful dwarves in the data-mining department indicates that the nominated Accounts Payable address belongs to (or perhaps more properly belonged to) Reasonable People Inc, a small recruiting firm.
It's unclear at this time as to whether Accounts Payable functions have been outsourced, or if a new Linden Lab office has been opened in Issaquah.

"walk-in visits be directed to the new Battery Street office."
I have to say that this comment intrigues me. I live about 30 minutes from San Francisco and even with my limited geographical knowledge of the city, I can find Battery St. Can anyone walk in? Can I get some Massively.com press credentials to do a walk in?
I can't believe it would be that interesting to see the inner workings of an MMO, but I would still love to see what all goes into the technical aspect.

They've welcomed resident visitors in the past - while the letter didn't directly specify walk-in visits, I assume they are still receptive to those if they're not too busy.
