TR's patch 1.6, why play when you can wait?
Filed under: Sci-fi, Game mechanics, Patches, PvE, Opinion, Tabula Rasa

I can now count myself in that last category, as the word that patch 1.6 was going to render profound changes on Tabula Rasa's experience modifier system has caused me to seize up and stop playing the game altogether. Perhaps it's a bit misguided to just forfeit playing the game on account of a patch with no concrete deadline, but then, who wants to spend all that time fighting enemies and grinding mobs with a paltry x2.5 experience modifier when the patch is going to be bringing down x6 multipliers with 30-minute boosters that bump it up an additional 50%? Setting aside simple quest experience, you could be looking at a whopping three times the experience gain pre-patch! Who wants to grind now when that's coming down the pipes? Not me, that's for sure.

I get where your coming from, but I didn't have to grind in TR even with my first toon (well.....there was that time around when he hit Descent and he ground out 20 percent on a CP, but that was it), and they've added a lot more quests in since.
I've noticed the servers always get a lot busier after a patch, so your not the only one that feels this way ;)

It's a very good point, I hadnt really though about it myself, but I can see why players would hold fire and then we get an influx post-patch!

I am one of those people that played the TR beta but never went retail. I got bored with WoW, flirted with going back to EQ2, I even messed around with HGL a little bit too.
I'm having a blast with TR, granted I'm only level 16 but I gave the game a second look and once I got beyond the newbie stuff the game really grabbed me.
I only hope that NC Soft can make the needed changes as soon as possible because AoC and/or Warhammer may erode what they have.
The game sorely needs:
- A UI slider, I'm playing at 1920x1200 and the UI is not only ugly but very rigid.
- Player vehicles, here we are in a futuristic shooter and all of the players run everywhere.
- More armors, weapons and mobs - after 16 levels of fighting Bane I'm getting a little tired of them.
Other then I'm having a lot of fun.

big mistake by NC soft, no end game so they will just have lot of new players getting faster to lvl 50 and quitting the game. My Guild lost 30 50s already. Some of the biggest clans on Eu server were disbanded cos all their players (50s) left the game.
BIG MISTAKE
