Is Cryptic hinting at Star Trek Online?

Keen-eyed reader Jester has alerted us to an interesting clue that might be Cryptic's way of telling us what their other MMO in development might be. On their front page, Cryptic has a small countdown clock with a lovely space background, but no other text over it.
Over at Star Trek fansite Trekcore, they've posted a ton of the concept artwork that had been previously done by Perpetual for the Star Trek Online before it got canceled. One of the pieces is the same blue-washed planet scene immediately discernible as the background for Cryptic's countdown timer. We've inset the clock into the concept piece for your viewing pleasure above. Is this a smoking gun? Or, rather, a plasma-venting core?

If you read the thread about the timer in the champions-online forums, it's pretty much confirmed that the timer is for the STO website launch.

Champions Online and Star Trek online. No high-fantasy MMO.
You gotta love Cryptic. Ambitious, niche. Here's hoping they can pull it off.

I'm so stoked about this. 3 months of rumor and speculation have led to this, probably the best clue that Cryptic really is making STO.
I'm so damn excited right now!

I would love to see and end game that resulted in the ability to captain your own star ship or research ship or some such option. It would be nice to have a different arena to master once you reach the level cap. It would be the ultimate horse x100.
In the same light, I would like to see you start as a low ranked red shirted phaser fodder target and work your way through the ranks so levels are not just a matter of farming.
It would be fun to have a profession that allowed for empath, engineer, arms specialist, pilot, intergalactic politician, etc....what fun!
It would also be fun to spend months looking for a missing legend like Picard or Kirk, who has vanished among the vast array of planets.
This is good news!
