AoC patch on Testlive brings more fixes, causes combo drama
Filed under: Fantasy, Age of Conan, Game mechanics, Patches, PvP
Now that the Testlive forums are up and running, Age of Conan players have a chance to scope out coming patches before they go live. Right now, there's a new patch on the Testlive servers that's a possible candidate for release on the 16th of July.As well as a pile of fixes and alterations, a stray patch note sneaked in that would affect how combos work. More than anything else, this has caught the attention of AoC forum commentators. The change is clearly meant to prevent melee classes from 'pre-loading' combos by executing all the initial moves and then walloping a target for the last one.
However, it's transpired that the relevant change wasn't even on the Testlive server yet, and will only be included along with other changes, as Vinterstum explains: 'This change won't actually be in for a little while, and when it does come in, it'll be in a little package with a few other things that should make being a melee class in PvP a little bit easier.' Patch notes are available for those who have forum accounts. We'd just like to emphasise that none of this will necessarily make it to Live.

It is also worth noting that there are several pre-"PvP patch" changes in right now. This includes a PvP XP bar, improved PvP GUI and a couple of other things as well. ( can't attack guild anymore, tab for consequence system... ect.)
So chances are we're going to hear more about the new PvP system soon. I'm placing my money that it will be out before the end of July or very early August.

This game is dead, patches up the ying yang that aren't tested and new ones that break current features. PvP is a joke, crafting is still borked........Nadril how much does Funcom pay you to come here and be a little cheerleader for their patches?
Luckily for AoC WoW is on a downswing and WAR isn't out yet, otherwise it would be a wasteland of nothing but fanboy nerd rage for an empty mess of an excuse for a game.

Have fun backing WAR -- you're only going to be missing 4 cities and 4 classes on release.

With each new patch Funcom's stock price goes down, investor confidence in the mess is quickly disappearing, which is why every time you turn around Gaute is making some promise about how the game will be improved.

Bottom line - don't release unfinished, untested games with bugs and with gaping wholes in the content.
