Wrath of the Lich King Beta is now open

Filed under: World of Warcraft, Betas, Fantasy, Expansions, Patches

Today is pretty much a landmark day for MMOs. Earlier today an interview with EA executive John confirmed the existence of the KOTOR MMO. That's enough for any two days. Why not add the unveiling of the Closed Beta test for the west's most popular MMO into the mix? That's right, the download instructions for Wrath of the Lich King's Beta client are now up on the official World of Warcraft website. Our sister site WoW Insider is carrying the news, noting that this is just the beginning of the ramp up to full Beta testing.

As we discussed a short while ago, players have been able to opt into the Beta test via their WoW account pages. Selected players will be getting emails detailing how to get their client and hop into the Beta. WI also has the patch notes that accompany the Beta's start. Check out the full patch notes for sweetness like Barber Shops, floating Dalaran, dungeons, class changes, and (of course) the Death Knight. Those who may be about to test, we salute you!
