It seems the beta client will be available for download on 8/15, along with the account registration website for Open Beta. So presumably Open Beta will begin on or shortly after the 18th.
Head Start will apparently open on September 15 at 10am EST, for all pre-order customers. Everyone else gets in on the 18th at 10am.

Always a bit disappointing to not get into closed beta when you have been signed up for like what....2 years? =P (with 4 different email accounts LOL)
Anyone know if I can get the preorder package by walking into my local ebgames or do I need to order online to get it? The clerks in the stores rarely know for sure as it isn't covered in there 6 hour "plus sell them xbox crap!" class.

Personally as long as the open beta gets started I don't care about the release date. Getting the date was nice, but the implied open beta in 9ish days was more super-er-er.

Am I the only british person thinking "Hang on". $14.99 does not equal £10.31. Also the subs for WOW over here are £8.99 for the month. In the current economic climate, forgive me for pointing out that yet again EA is gouging it's UK and EU customers.

Well Adam, I tend to play on NA servers where the Euro makes the monthly sub cheaper.
Take CoH. Its night $15 and the euro version is also €15.
I pay a wee less to play in America. Odd I suppose

I agree Adam. I kind of expected this but it still has really pissed me off. Its really frustrating when companies screw over Europe.
The only consolation i take is that ill be playing on US servers so ill be paying in $'s and avoiding the rip-off. But its bad for people wanting to play on EU servers.
