WotLK mount "The Hog" confirmed
Filed under: World of Warcraft, Betas, Fantasy, Expansions, Game mechanics
If you're a World of Warcraft player and you're born to be wild (I mean seriously, who isn't), you may be excited about the latest mount confirmation coming in Wrath of the Lich King. "The Hog" is a new mount that is currently in the Wrath beta, and is said to launch when the expansion goes retail later this year.
Of course with most Wrath gear and mounts, there are stipulations on level and availability. From what we know right now, The Hog is not a temporary quest item, it is used just like any other mount. It can also only be used in Northrend and Outland. Previous rumors slated this mount for Engineers only, but it is said to have no Engineer restriction, so anyone can use it. Grab your fellow one-percenters and riiiiiide!

How does it contradict lore if the people who make the lore put it in the game?
There are guns, teleportation devices, zeppelins, gyrocopters, electric trams, bombs, and hell even mechanical sheep- but goodness no, no motorcycles that would just be unrealistic.

That is such stupid sh*t. WTF are they thinking? They've slowly destroyed any connection to the lore that may have existed, and which initially made the game so much fun. First Space Goats, Horde Paladins and no scooters?

Once again, none of that contradicts lore. Blizzard retconned the Draenei/Eredar lore so that they could expand on Outland lore- and it worked. They RETconned it. They didn't break it.
Blood Knights also don't contradict lore. People have their heads jammed so far up their arses they'll say that the first change they're uncomfortable with contradicts lore even when it doesn't.

Dranei were a part of the lore, yes, the shit with changing their appearance (to appease the appearance conscious Alliance players) and the crashed space ship nonsense was tacked on.
Bloodelf Paladins are NOT Blood Knights.
Gnome Deathknights? Tauren Deathknights?
Motorcycles?
I swear, once Rob Pardo left his position of being the lead designer the game started slipping big time. After WoW Classic they f'd the lore to make it easier for themselves, they bend the lore to fit their game - not the other way around.

Draenei were about it for me. Those things were so freakin' ill-conceived, it makes me have an anuerism. Retcon or not (and Retcons are REALLY REALLY bad btw), there's still a lot of stuff the did with BC and are doing with Wrath that make me seriously question my loyalty.
Motor cycle = retarded.

Yes, yes they are. Blood Elf Paladins belong to the Order of Blood Knights. Blood Knight is just a fancy term for a Blood Elf Paladin.
Tauren and Gnome Death Knights make as much sense as Human or Undead Death Knights. They're mortal. ALL mortals are capable of corruption. I don't know where people got it in their head that Tauren were saints- look at the Grimtotem tribe. There is no good explaination to prevent Gnome Death Knights, and "because it's silly" is a bad excuse.
There has ALWAYS been technology in WarCraft. Look back to WarCraft III. They had steamtanks and Gyrocopters back then, too. I don't know why people are whining and crying over this now. In case the other Alliance players didn't notice, we've been taking TRAMS to Ironforge and Stormwind for four years now.
No one gets it right the first time. If the Draenei lore had stayed the same, half of the content and lore in Outland wouldn't exist and BC probably would have been next to useless.
You can't complain about it. Just because WarCraft doesn't fit "your" idea of what it should be like is irrelevent. It's not your lore. If you don't like it, that's fine, but don't go around saying what it should be- because you don't have any say in that.

Lore breaking? RP-breaking? You're all kidding right? The stuff that the goblins and gnomes put out already surpass the concept of a motorcycle.
Wow talk about complaining just to hear yourself complain.

it looks like one of those mounts they talked about where you can take someone along for the ride with you (because of the side car)

/no
This ruins the fantasy environment that they have worked so hard to create, and that we enjoy so much.
It would be more acceptable to me if it were engineer-specific.
If you really can take someone along with you on the back though, that would be cool.

Do you have to go to an in-game dealership to purchase this "mount"?
