Top 10 things we all want in a KotOR MMO
Filed under: Sci-fi, Culture, Game mechanics, MMO industry, New titles, Opinion
The Knights of the Old Republic MMO concept has been laid out there, despite no "official" announcement, and excitement is brewing everywhere. What would this MMO bring to the table? How would they successfully create another Star Wars-based online world and make it at least competitive in today's crowded MMO market? Enter IGN's "Top 10 Things We Want in a KOTOR MMO" list. This list was compiled by the folks on IGN's PC Team to let us know what they think would make the game exciting and successful. Some of the features they've cited include space combat comparable to TIE Fighter, player-run territories (planets?) and no over-saturation of Jedis. Check out the complete list at their site for more, and let us know what you'd add to that list.

Take Mass Effect, give it a TCP/IP layer, apply the Star Wars universe to it and add some more content and you absolutely have my money. I know some of the ME combat ideas wouldn't translate well to an MMO, but that game looked and ran absolutely awesome. I'm just hoping for all the branching dialouge and delicious third person animations. If anyone can bring it to the table its BioWare!

When SWG first came out, I knew it was crap because they limited Jedi. Doing that again would RUIN the game from the beginning. If there is ever a time to have tons of Jedi running around, its the KOTOR time.
Giving someone a Star Wars game, then telling them they can't be Jedi has got to be one of the most stupid moves in gaming history, do not repeat it again.

I want it not to be like WoW.
I want the old-fashion SWG-Sandboxsystem back
and a limited Number of Jedi.
Becomming a Jedi should be a long and hard way, like in the films.
It should be a real challenge.
And that is absolutely important:
I want a T A X - S Y S T E M !
Nerly every server economy begins to fail because the players have more money, the more time they have.
Commiting to a tax-system would limit their money so dumping prices will not come up and it is atractive to play a merchant.
