GamerDNA's new WAR signature generator
Filed under: Fantasy, Culture, Forums, Warhammer Online
We've been hearing quite a bit about gamerDNA lately, and for good reason. Following our interview with their CEO, Jon Radoff, during PAX this year, they've been steadily making headlines everywhere. In fact, just last week they surpassed 500,000 sign-ups for the quizzes on their site, and now they've announced their very own Warhammer Online Signature Generator.
This handy little generator isn't a separate downloadable app, like others, but instead is done straight through the gamerDNA site itself. It displays your class, rank, reknown rank, server name and guild name. Check out their press release for complete info on getting one for yourself. Also, don't forget about their 60-day WAR game card contest still going on!

I want one, but as I play in the EU game I can't have one and may never get one. Yet another reason to hate on GOA.

As if another reason was needed :-)

Wow, what a mess the GamerDNA site is. Using OpenID my registration was botched (luckily it did have my email so I could reset my password). Clicking around the site I was getting constant 500 errors. I took the Bartle quiz (which is 20 or so questions) and I got five 500 errors.
Looks like they're using Rails for the bulk of the site, but aren't using Apache or nginx as a proxy for static content. And they have plenty of static content (lots of images). Pretty amateur stuff.

Scott, I'm very sorry that you're having problems using gamerDNA.com . Over the next few weeks you can expect many improvements to the site performance and stability as we continue to refine the product and find out bottlenecks. We just launched gamerDNA.com in June, so we're still finding out some of the problems as our product continues to scale up and evolve.
Your experience with the site is not reflective of the normal operation of the site and I have passed on your comments to the development team. I hope you come back again in the future and take a look at some of the great features that we have at gamerDNA.com
Thanks,
Sam Houston
