Warhammer mod automatically reports tell spammers

According to a ticker at the Warhammer Online Herald, Mythic has banned over 4,000 WAR users for gold farming and selling. Now to further the battle, its representatives at the Herald have suggested that players download a third party UI mod called "Spam Me Not" which not only automatically blocks incoming gold seller spam tells, but reports the sender of the tell.We haven't used the app, so we don't know how well it works. It might block legitimate tells from friends. If you try it out, tell us how that works for you.
The post at the Herald says that the mod is not endorsed by Mythic, although one would think that mentioning it on the official site is at least a tacit endorsement. Mythic did go on to say that players should continue using the game's built-in spam reporting features as well.

I'm playing War and enjoying it immensely but oh man, the goldspam is sooo bad. I have never experienced anything like it.
During peak hours I get spam every six to eight minutes and that's no exaggeration.
I started reporting them all last night. I didn't get a lot of leveling done but it felt good.
I will definitely look at this mod.

I'm new to all this mod stuff. In LOTRO or DDO I just right clicked the spammers name and hit report.
I don't know why they don't have this in the game and I'm "forced" to use a mod. I say this because the gold spam is that bad.
My question is, do I have to have this curse client running in the background for this mod to work?
Also is it just auto on in the game or do I need to go to some options somewhere.

I think it i srather bad than good, becuase it shows that the game devs, themself either do not have the time, to make their own spam protecting ingame system , so rather they go the easy way and relay on user created mods. I dislike mods very much, and won't use this, and so far i have not met any spammer gold seller so far.
So if i want to enjoy this game i need some 3rd party add-on? What for do i pay then the monthly fee? If they can not give me the service the game requires. I know it has just been released, but so far there are a lot of BUG's in game and with lots i mean" a lot". Mob path finding, fighting close range is bugged like hell. UI is slow. lag in general, no idea what is the cause, but as i can not see the ping, i have no idea if its me... should i continue...
nonthereless i still play it as all other mmo's i have been playing to boredom :P

Please do continue, out of the problems you listed I only have seen the NPC pathing problem - and that's been acknowledged by Mythic already in the beta (patch pending(tm)).
There are bugs in the WAR - as there are bugs in all games. So far I haven't really seen anything game breaking though and I believe they've been hotfixing/patching some issues already.
When it comes to 3rd party addons - no, you don't need it and you can enjoy the game just fine without it. The addons are there (just like in WoW and other games) to let community to build on the product.

I'm just probably jinxing it now, but I haven't received a single gold selling advertisement yet.
I play on EU servers though, maybe there's a difference?

Its funny to see you guys complaining about WAR.... This game is amazing by far... You are all saying its full of bugs, the game sucks, etc...
I just have to ask... Are you fans of Funcom or Age of Conan... Did you complain about the BS happening over there? I guess not since you all still play that garbage of a game...
Go back to AOC, leave our WAR articles alone... This game will last a lot longer than AOC because that company is about to go bankrupt...

I can't believe how many complaints I see about this game. There is nothing about the game that makes it broken beyond being fun, and its literally the best/smoothest launch I've seen in an MMO in a while.
People need to stop complaining about all this shit and understand that it takes a few months to really put polish on these games. I'm not saying there aren't bugs and shit, but I haven't come across anything that messed up the mechanics to the point where I couldn't play.
All in all, the game is really fun. That's it.

I'm in complete agreement with the last 2 posters. Anyone remember the downtime and problems WoW had in the beginning? Players were offline for days at a time so that bliz could fix problems after launch. I won't even go into how bad gold spammers were in the first years. Yes, YEARS...
AoC was constantly patching and had loads of sellers also. Whats all the complaining about? We've been dealing with them for years now. Just face it, they will (like another poster said) always find a way to get around our defenses.
As for whether War is fun.. I'm having a blast. The gold sellers and all the complainers aren't hurting me in the least :)
