World of Warcraft gaming mouse is extra accurate, expensive
Filed under: World of Warcraft, Fantasy, Culture, Expansions, News items

Engadget got the scoop on a new, World of Warcraft-themed gaming mouse from SteelSeries. The mouse has 15 buttons that can be assigned to various actions via an in-game UI plugin provided by the manufacturer. It also eerily glows with a color of your choosing (there are 16 million to pick from, so you won't run out of options any time soon).
The mouse will be available November 13th for somewhere under 100 dollars (yeah, so specific!) -- that's the exact same day as the Wrath of the Lich King expansion's release date, of course. We're sure that's totally a coincidence. Yep.

World of Warcraft isn't my poison any more, but a mouse with 15 buttons would be a dream come true for any mmo. At the moment I'm using a logitech MX Revolution which has 11 of them, and I could certainly do with a couple more on there.
Let's hope it's accessible to other games as well, though I'm pretty sure it will be.

I also use the MX Revolution and that mouse looks a lot like it, but much cooler, except for the WoW logo.
Could be nice, but it might lead to just a general MMO mouse, or other companies putting their logo on it, hopefully.

Uberoptions for the win, eh.

If its on sale when I pick up WotLK at the midnight opening, I'll be tempted to get one!
My generic MS mouse is starting to get a bit crusty.

that thing looks like it would come alive while I'm sleeping and take over the world. I'd want it if I played WoW and didn't already love my G5.

I had a hands on today, it's very well constructed and the button mapping was great!

15 buttons? But what if you don't have 15 fingers? :)

It is a really nice mouse. If I upgrade (using a 7 year old MX518 :D) I'll go to a G5 though.

If I didn't buy myself a Razer DeathAdder last year, I'd consider this for a replacement. I'd want to get a feel of it before I committed that kind of money to equipment, though. Anything in the $100 range deserves a test drive first.
