High level content adjustments in latest WAR hotfix
Filed under: Patches, Warhammer Online, News items
Mythic is tweaking and adding to the endgame content in Warhammer Online. Experience gain in tiers 3 and 4 are being increased and brand new quests are being added. This is only the beginning of experience changes, according to Mythic. These aren't the only alterations to the endgame experience, however. Fortress Lords and contested city guards have been made more challenging and because of this, armor sets have been modified to help players deal with their newly acquired combat tenacity.
This looks like the opening salvo of streamlining updates from Mythic. Whatever they're feeding the development team seems to be working, because it seems like every few days we've got another relevant hot-fix to report. Chances are that the first major content update for Warhammer Online will blow a dwarf-sized hole in our collective minds when it's announced. Check beyond the cut for the detail info you may be seeking.

Quest experience rewards
- We have revised the experience awarded for completing quests in chapters 10 through 22.
- We have added new repeatable PvE quests to all tier 3 chapters (chapters 10 through 14).
- The new quests offered in chapters 10 and 11 may be completed twice each.
- The new quests offered in chapters 12 and 13 may be completed three times each.
- The new quests offered in chapter 14 may be completed four times each.
- The experience earned for killing an enemy player in an RvR lake will be increased by +50%.
- We have updated the Annihilator and Conqueror armor sets (acquired through a variety of high level RvR) to include Wards, in order to maintain parity with PvE Armor Sets.
- The Annihilator set now includes the same Ward as that offered by the Bastion Stair's Bloodlord set.
- The Conqueror set now includes the same Ward as that offered by the City Dungeon Sentinel set.
- Players who equip pieces from the Annihilator and Conqueror armor sets will be better-equipped to challenge the Fortress Lords and contested city guards. The more pieces equipped, the better defended players will be against these deadly adversaries

WAR > AOC
I love how Mythic is sticking it to Funcom (Failcom) by releasing patches super fast, we don't have to wait weeks between known exploits for them to fix it, they fix all of the problems on the server side with a few meg patch to upgrade our software...
I love how Mythic is just amazing.. it is funny to see how most of the AOC fanbase feel like they were screwed by Failcom and moved to WAR and are having a GREAT experience, I know because I am one of them.. :D

I think that has more to do with the lack of capital. Funcom isn't backed by a monolithic gaming corporation with plenty of resources to spare. Mythic can pull this off because they have the resources to hire people just to go into the game and patch things. Funcom doesn't.
If Funcom wasn't so ambitious, they'd have done just fine, but they went well beyond their reach. Reaching for the stars is fine, just don't do it over the open mouth of a volcano.

This is awesome. My guild is slowly moving up the Tier 3 content into Tier 4, and this was one of the biggest complains we've had so far. Way to go, Mythic!

I think more than the patches coming quickly (after all, AoC did patch certain things twice a week), they're not all MASSIVE. Downloading 200 MBs worth of stuff every few days was not fun. Of course, I'm sure it's slowed down by now.

Also the fact that they do actually fix stuff. If I had to download another 500MB patch which just broke the game more again.
Either way Mythic is listening, and that is great.

Fun game, but the huge limitations added to seige weapons (compared to DAOC) sort of put me off. Makes each RVR experience the same as the last. I'm not quite sure whey they added this pad system, but regardless, I'm done at the end of my month. I'm sure I'll come back later though.

I've been playing the game slowly, and it's paying dividends. The amount of detail they've put into the game is startling, and it's the perfect casual game. The new Tier 3-4 exp fixes are just gravy. I'm only just turning 21 tonight.
