Major Tabula Rasa event only days away?

According to an in-character communique from Tabula Rasa postergirl Sarah Morrison, something big is about to hit the proverbial fan. The implication is that a large-scale Bane attack is coming, and scuttlebutt among the game's players suggests that General British himself may make an appearance:'Increasing Bane activity has been detected across Foreas and Arieki over the past few days. [...] seeking to get as much intel as possible to explain this and have managed to intercept a message between what we believe to be one of their primary Tactical Operations Centers and one of their motherships [...] hard at work trying to decipher the entirety of the message [...] contained information on a possible large scale assault scheduled to take place in approximately 9 days. [...] is probably the last message I am able to send through this channel. It has become increasingly difficult to [...]. Hopefully the bulk of this message will reach you.'
The date of the event, November 2nd, should be familiar to Tabula Rasa players as the day the game went live, almost a year ago. It's also the anniversary of Massively - good heavens, hasn't the time flown?

Major Event in Tabula Rasa? So they are bringing the servers down for good? Richard needs to be flying this game to outer space in the hopes that an alien life form can salvage it.

Why all this hate for TR? It’s a great game and has allot of players. It may not have as many players as WOW but what MMO does? They are not taking the servers down any time soon sorry to tell you. In fact they have a huge new patch (D15) were we will be coming back to Earth to take it back. They have also added allot and I mean allot of new content, Armor, weapons and even a new crafting system that now has every one using it unlike most games were only a select few like to use the crafting system.
If people don’t like the game than fine, but all this hate is stupid and actually makes the poster look immature to say the least.
I am surprised this site calls its self a source of info for TR when they in fact fuel the hate fire with false rumors and poorly contrived news articles filled with misinformed and biased writings made by armature news journalists. At least they got some info correct this time.
This site being a "news source" should work on stomping out the flames with factual writings unlike the article saying TR was being shut down when all that NC soft was doing was cutting a few jobs from Dungeon Runners.

Rainstater, truth works both ways. TR might have "allot of players" at 30k, but that is one of the lowest among any MMO. Likewise, cutting 13 out of 18 of the Dungeon Runners staff is not "a few jobs" - it's a hatchet job.

I've gone thru numerous stages regarding TR; at first I was on the bubble, having played the beta and noticing great potential but lack of depth. Then having picked it up, several months post retail launch, and leveling to 30'ish and loving the game till the content/rewards grew thin. Bitterness set in as I knew they could have done so much more, and resentful that Garriott was going to float around in space while his MMO floundered around on the ground gasping for air. Now I just simply want to see the game succeed, competition is good, the game has a decent base on which to build and I hope they get the chance to do it.

4 servers 3 in north america, 2 west coast, 1 east and a european server, and they are always very busy, even with the advent of WAR and Woltk coming the player base is steady and nowhere near failure levels yet

Yes, TR always has new players - but very few of them wind up staying. My clan in TR was a revolving door of players coming in to try out the trial then leaving once it was up.
Also, don't get too excited if one of their servers are busy, they only have 2 for North America? If/when they start adding servers is when I think we'll all agree that the game is on an upswing.

Leshrac your full of shit, trial players can't join clans let alone use and chat functions. If you knew anything about the game its 3 servers in the US, never recieved a busy notice and there is one EU server.
Tabula Rasa is very much alive and kicking, considering that Earth is being released late Decemeber or Early January it far from dead.
All you WoW cockroaches need to crawl back in your whole and go run Black Rock Spire one more time.

Tabula Rasa is very much alive and kicking. I have been playing since closed beta and have seen and played every iteration since. Our clan is more active now than it's ever been. With over 80 members (more than half are active) it's not uncommon to see as many as 18-20 logged on simultaneously.
As to attrition rate, yes, some do leave, as with all MMO's. Sometimes they leave when a newly released game comes out, some people get bored, and many have left because of economic reasons. But I can say that all 5 of our original officers are still playing, several of which have been around since the beginning.
With the new crafting system, series 2 and series 3 weapons, new armor sets, new level 50 instances, new mob, a PvP battlefield, dynamically changing maps, a trip back to earth soon to come and the best devs in the industry, there is a lot to be excited about and look forward to.
After a year and a half of playing it's still a game I sit down to play in the evening and find it hard to pull myself away from after several hours.
Kudos to the dev team and all those involved, they've done a fantastic job this past year getting TR to where it is now.

I started playing again last week after a brief spring fling with the game.
Crafting is MUCH better and I am impressed by the amount of content in the game. It also strikes a balance between linearity and total open-endedness. A few areas still need polish, but if they had released the game in THIS state, they'd be much more popular.
At this point, they probably hope to follow the EVE Online model of slow growth over time based largely on word-of-mouth.

Hopefully they won't follow the EVE Online model of poor customer support and nerfing winning strategies. Nearly every year you have to learn to play the game again... not good.
From what I've played of TR I will be signing up for it just as soon as my EVE account expires. Its more fun, less intense and ultimately much more enjoyable than EVE, for me at least.
As for comparisons with WoW and WAR... I prefer Sci-Fi, thats just more my thing.

So far i haven't seen nerfs as yet just trying to balance the game because certain things are seriously OP like the medics resist and the new crafting system, with these medics are nearly unkillable in pvp and pve
