Massively.com giveaway: EverQuest Seeds of Destruction
Filed under: Fantasy, EverQuest, Contests
The Massively giveaway week extravaganza rolls on! Today it's all about our friends over at Sony Online Entertainment. That's right, today is a giveaway day entirely devoted to SOE games and the gamers that love them. We'll kick things off with the brand-new expansion for the game that started it all: EverQuest. The Seeds of Destruction expansion only launched just a precious few weeks ago, but the addition of NPC allies to the game has come with enormous positive feedback from the community. New dungeons, more levels, and even more content for players to explore makes this easily the best-recieved new EQ pack since the days of The Serpent's Spine. We have ten of these fantastic expansions to hand out, and they each go for about $40, making total retail value of this giveaway about $400.
All you have to do to enter is leave a comment on this post telling us what your favorite EverQuest zone is! Remember, the new expansions come with all the old ones packaged in. Even if you haven't played in a while you'll be getting the whole experience with this new content. To get it you'll need to comment before 7:00 AM EST Friday, November 7th. You can only enter once per person, and after the contest closes we'll ship out these fantastic prizes to 10 randomly-selected winners. Give us at least a week to ship out this massive pile of swag, though. To win you must be age 18 or up and a resident of the US or Canada (excluding Quebec). For full eligibility details, we suggest you read our official rules. Good luck!

My favorite Everquest zone has to be Chardok. There are so many little things that make the zone interesting.
Chardok is the site of the ancient sarnak military fortress that has existed for centuries since the time of Emperor Atrebe, and is considered by the sarnaks to be their home.
The entrance to the zone is not the same as the exit from it. When you enter the zone, if you turn around you will simply see a blank stone wall. Upon entry to the zone you proceed deeper and keep to the left. This will lead you past the entrance to the main part of the zone and, up a hallway, to the exit.
Much of the loot in this zone drops off of practically any mob within the zone, making any adventure into the zone useful in terms of obtaining loot.

My favorite zone by far was Walls of Slaughter the day Omens of War released. That day people were showing off all the great gear that was dropping of mobs and this was when attunable gear was first introduced. It pretty much changed Everquest as I know it. I actually still solo there with my level 80 Bard. Fun times

Velks Lab has always been a favorite of mine.
I can recall the first times going up to the village, sliding on the ice... plenty of good times there.
might just patch back up and have a looksee again for old times sake.
second favorite would have to have been KC. always loved the trains in there.

Never really played Everquest, but would like to try it out, as it really got MMOs to prominence.

You guys are gonna laugh at me, but it has to be the Halfling starting city of Riverdale. It always fit in my mind what Halflings *wouild* and should be (even more than LOTRO, I hate to say!)

Oh missed my zone, it is Blackburrow, but not the EQ2 version, which is horrible.

My favorite area was Erudin. Specifically the docks. Terribly designed, horrible to get around, totally blocky and always empty even at the best of times.
However, it's also home to my first "realistic" videogame sunrise. I was hanging out on the docks and I was awestruck at the beauty of the sun peeking over the horizon. Ghetto by today's standards, it's still one of my favorite rose-tinted gaming memories.

My favorite is Grieg's End on Luclin. Getting hit with random (and very strange/unique) illusions added some neat variety to long grinding sessions!
