EVE Online moving to the world of First Person Shooters

This came during a presentation on the future of EVE Online, during which CCP heads Hilmar Petursson and Nathan Richardsson noted they were working on a 'game console strategy' for the company. The site speculates that the FPS will be coming to the PS3 and Xbox 360 at some point down the road, but also points out that we shouldn't expect this landmark title any time soon. At the moment, all of CCP's resources and thinking with EVE Online are centered around creating the next expansion to the game.

If they can also include vehicular and aerial combat with planetary objectives for this fps and lead to making it mix with eve-online it would be the best game ever. Being able to zone to different planets for fps combat for resources etc., and then fly back out to space for the current eve-online gameplay would be everything I've ever wanted for a game. Then they could add the first person view for aerial planetary dogfights since many eve-online members have wanted that view for sometime now. If it's a seperate game I will be trying it anyhow. Eve is a great game and I've always liked CCP.

They are still making World Of Darkness using a new division branch.
The FPS is a new secret to me and I have been following their projects for a year now. And a damn nice one too. Console better not get it first, PC gamers are where it's at! looking at you GTA...
@Stan-That planetary stuff should be in EVE live server in 2 years...the FPS is probably how they will test the balance issues.
