Turbine marches to the beat of its own drum, continued yearly expansions

So players can expect the same amount of book updates and further yearly expansions, which sounds like it can only be a good thing for a game that at launch was often tagged with the, "Not enough to do at end-game" complaint. It doesn't seem like that's ever going to become a problem again, however.

Seems that the companies who "don't worry about WoW" seem to plant their flag and hold their ground quite well. EvE, Guild Wars and LOTRO are examples of games that do their own thing and do it well, regardless of the mainstream. I think WAR and AoC lost a lot of vision and originality by attempting to take WoW head on.
I hope SWTOR doesn't follow this trend and Bioware does their own thing.

it is kind of the problem there though.
wile AoC COULD have used it's own lore to make a compelling game, and WAR could have been so much more - both ended with shortsightedness from the developers
lotro doesn't have this problem. the developers took the lore and translated it to a game. and they know the rode they plan on taking - and that makes me glad.
i am sure SWTOR will imitatie WoW a lot - but i also hope they learn from the failure of SWG after NGE....
