Mythic prank hints at Orc Choppa career coming to WAR next week
Filed under: Fantasy, Classes, Warhammer Online, News items, Races

The folks at Mythic Entertainment recently gave a pretty big hint about a new Warhammer Online career to be introduced, through a creative gag. They sent hair dye and a trimmer to WAR bloggers Keen and Graev, a nod to the upcoming Dwarf Slayer career. Lightning has struck twice now though, with what The Greenskin posted yesterday.
Mythic Entertainment sent The Greenskin a DVD of Predator, with instructions to go to the meme Schwarzenegger shouts at 1:16:06... "Get to da choppa!" With this hint, it seems a given that the Orc Choppa career is coming to Warhammer Online. The DVD also came with the hint that there would be "more to come" on January 29th.

This will be making a lot of people happy. Hopefully, like the Knight over the BG, the Order version will be slightly stronger, b/c we're lacking a high burst dmg *cough*easybutton*cough* DPS over Destro's WE.

Be cool is they have a live event for Feb for both classes like heavy metal, call it Bloody Valentine.

The event leading up to the two new tanking classes was a lot of fun. I also hope they do something similar for the next two.
I'd imagine that the patch introducing the two new classes will contain a lot of other goodies, as well.
I was a bit disappointed when they left the classes out at release. I've been pleased with how they've handled it, though, and with the end result.

I have to admit, the prospect of playing a Slayer is really making me consider turning my account back on.

I just bought another month of time after quitting for two months and while there have been a lot of improvements to the game, it's more of a ghost town than ever and I'm still having very irritating fps issues.
I run WoW fully maxed everything with ~50-60fps and LotRO on "ultra high" with ~40-50 fps so it's really frustrating to be stuck at around 15fps in WAR with frequent major stutters in when I'm solo questing.
Anyway, long story short (too late I know)...the Choppa class might very well get me to stick it out with WAR a bit longer. I've wanted to play a destruction mpds all along, but I find the WE too squishy for my taste and for w/e reason I just don't enjoy the Maurader's combat system. Can't wait to hear more about the Choppa.

LOL I wonder who wasted all that time trying to find a pop culture "choppa" reference.

It is the first image when you google "choppa", personally I love this kind of stuff. I hope they keep it up in the future. It really helps building a community.

I have to admit, Mythic do know what it takes to keep a complete WAR hater somewhat interested...

Agreed, WAR was a failure for me, but this is some quality hype. :-)
