Age of Conan is hiring despite poor economy
Filed under: Fantasy, Age of Conan, MMO industry
While so many other companies are laying off employees, it might surprise you to hear that Funcom is actually hiring for Age of Conan. As announced in a forum post yesterday by AoC's Game Director Craig "Silirrion" Morrison, Funcom is hiring for three positions currently: Flash/UI Designer, Environmental Artist and AI Designer. It looks like all of these jobs would require some hefty design experience with a requirement to relocate to Oslo, Norway. Is it something you'd be interest in pursuing? Dust off the old resume and give it a shot. Complete applications instructions are located in the forum post. Good luck!

These 3 would be to replace some of the several hundred fired just a couple of months ago? (grin)
No news should be just that.

Actualy i think that the once who got fired a couple of months ago was just some of the cusomer support team because they didnt need that many of them anymore, not any of the developers as far as i know.

I believe this is correct, but the ones they kept are by far the worst GM's i've ever experienced in a game. The volunteer GMs are about as worthless as a wet bag of hammers. They need to fire and hire some decent customer service.....

They HAD great GMs. Funcom had a really awesome group of people in CS a few months ago. But then upper-management decided to make it a numbers game, and soon it quickly became about quantity instead of quality. Everybody suddenly had to worry about keeping up to a certain (rather high) amount of petitions each week...
So the GM that goes out of his way to help a player and give good customer service is more likely to get fired than one who does everything by the book and deals with players as minimally as possible. Unfortunately, most CS departments are run this way these days...
It's a company of good people and bad management.
