GDC09: Jumpgate Evolution developer video walkthrough
Filed under: Sci-fi, Jumpgate Evolution, New titles, News items, Massively Event Coverage
With its June release nearing and beta even closer than that, Jumpgate Evolution was looking pretty hot at GDC09 this week -- although that may have something to do with the game running on three monitors.
Much of the information in the video isn't entirely new, aside from the discussion of open PvP which seems to involve the building and defending/attacking of space stations. Beyond that, we get a very close look at the sexy UI that NetDevil has put together. Also, have we mentioned that this game looks downright gorgeous?
We're pretty sure that we've mentioned that at least five or twenty times. Check out the second half of the walkthrough after the break.

This game can't come out fast enough! I'm looking forward to some old-school, seat-of-my-pants space jockey action.

Not looking good. the beta appears to be a patching beta. From everything i have read and seen, including the interviews the game will be gold while beta is in progress and then the patch released when the game is released to fix identified bugs, as is the norm with all MMO's nowadays and should not be the standard.
The next thing i dislike about this is the on the rails flying (more eve type flight) to gain subs there may appear a need to dumb flight down but come on, a big goose egg. It does look like they tried to add some weapon physics but not nearly enough.

Looks nice as hell. Just mainly wondering how the end game going to be . Im hoping for a move EVE like end game where its very open and you can do alot.
To the person complaining about the EVE combat. This comebat isnt dumbed down, its different. EVES combat is extremely strategic and very unactive. This is more about your aim(which i prefer in a space MMO).Hopefully il be able to get into beta and give it a whirel(and hopefully what i have heard of the community isnt true)
