Linden Lab's Second Life resident choice awards

Filed under: Contests, Culture, News items, Second Life, Virtual worlds

Over the next week (ending 7 April), Linden Lab is taking votes for their inaugural Second Life Resident Choice Awards. There's no listed prize other than general acclaim and recognition, but the winners will be announced on the official blog on 17 April.

There are 35 categories ranging from your favorite place to chill to your favorite machinimist. The awards site lists all of the categories so you can get yourself sorted out before you vote. The votes are being collected through a Qualtrics survey, so you have to vote for all 35 categories all at once. You can only vote one time (a second attempt will invalidate your voting status), can't change your mind and they want SLURLs where possible, so be prepared!

Get in there and vote for your favorites, and get them that shot at recognition that they so richly deserve. You can also join the discussion on the announcement post, and suggest categories for next year (like "favorite left-handed octogenarian wig-maker" or "favorite cigar-smoking robotic live music host").

Are you a part of the most widely-known collaborative virtual environment or keeping a close eye on it? Massively's Second Life coverage keeps you in the loop.
