City of Heroes team rebranded as Paragon Studios

Still, a part of us wonders what exactly this means for the future of the newly named Paragon Studios. A name change like this with a shiny new logo doesn't usually happen unless said studio needs to be recognizable by everyone. So NCsoft can say things like, "From Paragon Studios, the team from City of Heroes" and such. So... new expansion? City of Heroes 2 to one effect or another? We'll have to wait and see, it seems.

Also, this seperates them from the NCSoft in-house development. B/c "from the dev team at Paragon Studios" sounds much better then anything "From NCsoft" after their last several years.
The peeps at NCNC have been the one shining Western in-house dev team that's been profitbale enough to not get the Korean groin chop the last few years.

NCsoft has had some backlash for the way they handled TABULA RASA. So it's really not surprising that Paragon Studios wants to differentiate themselves.

And honestly the distinction needed to be made from the publisher and the studio, especially for the cases when a studio splits from their publisher.
