Well, the voice-overs on these preview clips are still wincingly cheesy (at least to my ears), BUT the powers do look great.
I also noticed that the pseudo-cel-shaded "heavy black outline" around everything is not really present in this footage.
Perhaps Massively's speculation that the "effect" might be an optional user-choice toggle will prove true?
I hope so -- for whatever reason, I can't really handle looking at that "cel-shading" effect for more than fifteen minutes or so before my eyeballs rebel.
Giving me the option to turn the cel-outline effect off pretty much guarantees I'll stay with Champions Online past the free month with purchase.

I think there is. Someone mentioned about this before in a previous post there about being an option to turn off/tone down the cell filter. Though that person never bothered to source it. So you may have to look for that fine print on their website yourself.

Best video yet and I didn't mind the voice at all. Just hope it is polished by its release date. You only get one chance to show potential subscribers you covered all the bases. You can't launch like Warhammer or AoC where there were too many things left undone. Not unless you want to have a large amount subscribers start your game and see half of them leave in the first 3 months.

I am concerned too that this would be a big dissapointment upon release. But there won't be a big influx of players Like AC and WoW. Most of those where players that left where disgruntled WoW players looking for something to flip the bird at Blizzard with and where easily disappointed. But I can assure you from reading the WoW forums there's no Waiting on Champions threads posted 3 times a day in anticipation for this game (like there was with War). Most players there are quite likely unaware of CO's existance. So there won't likely be many players to begin with upon CO's release even if it is bad...hopefully if wont be bad though.

"We are DESTINED... to lay WASTE to our enemies!" -(Black Prophesy gameplay trailer, can anyone forget?)
yeah, the voice over here is cheesy, but dear god, it could be worse.

It's a game based on a comic book superhero rpg. Of course the voices are going to be cheesy.
