Crafty WAR marketing reveals the "Rosetta Bones," hints at upcoming contest
Filed under: Fantasy, Contests, Culture, Events, real-world, Expansions, MMO industry, Warhammer Online

This announcement however, is pretty big. In conjunction with the release of the Land of the Dead, blogs all about the blogosphere will be getting "Rosetta Bones." These bones will feature different symbols on their faces, each linked with a letter of the alphabet. The bones will also be accompanied with a map that points out special tomb unlocks, a flag to show which version the bones belong to (Europe or North American audiences will be getting different bones) and a parchment page containing storyline clues for what will be occuring in the future.
So what will these rosetta bones unlock? Well, Tomb of Knowledge's letter seems to say that five blogs will be recieving encoded cartouches that this bones will decode. Wait a second, does that say Massively.com will be getting a cartouche? And if you are one of the first 1,000 people to decode it and enter the code into your Warhammer Online account that you'll get a special Scarab Amulet?
We better get out our Indiana Jones hats! We have bones and a cartouche coming! Keep your eyes peeled, and get ready to decode!

Time & money could be better spent on this game, IMO. They've done this crafty type of gimic before. Still hasn't improved the overall perception of how their game plays.

It's unfortunate that they do not spend more time on the balance issues and get rid of the summon abilities and reduce the effects of CC. Cause after T3 the RVR sucks because of all the CC and summon+die w/no way to counter.

Because we all know it is really expensive to come up with this kind of pieces and put them on mail. And the PR department really has hands to work on the core features of the game.
Learn what you criticize. They have new content coming out and they're using a form of promoting that they used before.
As for the usual hating comments, no the game doesn't needs to be rebuilt from the core. It has a very solid and working core. They need to improve performance and stability obviously but the core works and many issues are going to be improved with 1.3.
