You're the only one noone cares for DnDO even if it's free, the game sucks.

Thanks for having me on the show, Shawn! I guess I didn't realize how poor my Internet upload speed is, which determines the quality of the VOIP connection. Sorry bout the scratches-dropoffs.
It was an honor to be on Massively Speaking. Love the podcast!

Oh, and to the Asheron's Call players out there: Yes, I know I was an idiot and forgot to mention your excellent game when I was talking about Turbine's other properties. I have no excuse...

The Digg link to the show is broken, as Digg doesn't have their podcast section any longer. Just FYI.

Really? The guy that's been podcasting about DDO for 2 years (and so I assume has been playing it for that long and has extensive knowledge about that game) thinks that a competent game development team like Turbine would knowingly gimp their own game buy having on-the-fly potion buying? Did I miss an interview or a press release where that was said? If I did, please tell me.

As a DDO :E player since practically launch
DDO is the best mmo i have ever played
I have been on SWG, COH/V, GW's, 9Dragons, Chaos, ExSteel, and WoW
The graphics are amazing, gameplay is real time no click and wait and even the casters who have a bit of a time delay to cast (of course that disapears if you take the quicken feat) can move while casting to avoid damage from incomming mobs
Though its hard at frist to get used to the gameplay especially if you are used to single pull games like swg ... and cause most games like wow and guild wars have that slow click and wait method ... realtime play is alot faster requires quick thinking and movement.
Content was small at launch but the game has grown alot far more then double or triple in size at both low and high end over the years all though alot less at high end in comparison.
I love the game and I know many who have already left did too .. part of the issue as with any mmo is lack of communication on future projects, and time delays between mods... this was one of the origional reasons for rushing out lvl 20 and free to play... so now the developers can work on nothing but content and character options like classes and races in which if done properly ddo has the most potential for updated data and character options of any mmo on the market or to come.
it will be interesting to see how the game competes with non free to play models like wow but more interesting to see how it competes with up-coming giant mmos like DC Universe and its cross platform launching on ps3 as well as PC and Star Wars: Old republic .. which us former SWG'rs thought was never gonna happen and it could draw alot of the mmo population away from both ddo and wow.
all that being said no matter what games i try out Turbine has hit the nail with ddo and i will always be a subscriber. hope yall will too.

WhoWhat: Turbine hasn't specifically said what items will be available in store, but they have given some examples now in a series of screenshots that you can find on Massively.com today.
Here is also a bit from Turbine's official FAQ on the Store:
3. What’s this DDO Store you speak of?
Funny you should ask. The DDO store is a vendor within DDO, where you can spend your hard-fought points or real, hard-earned dollars (if you wish) to enhance your gaming experience. While the best gear can still only be found by adventuring in-game, the store offers a bevy of convenience items, in addition to premium content modules, extra character slots, hirelings, potions, unique character customization, and much more than this page will allow us to list! Items in the DDO store are purchased with Turbine Points.
Note that it does specifically say potions there. Also, the DDO Store will be accessible in-quest.
One final comment: I realized upon listening to the show today that I misinterpereted Shawn's question about how Eberron Unlimited will impact MY show! I heard it as how it will impact the game. For the record: I'm very much looking forward to having a bunch of new players in DDO, at least some of which will probably want to check out my podcast. I don't make any money on the show, no ads or anything, so ultimately I don't have a financial benefit to getting more listeners, but hey - I do it because people hear it! And more people=good! :)

Great show guys really enjoyed it, DDO is a game I like and dare I say more then LotrO... The dungeon experiences are so much fun. The lack of an open world and personal housing is what killed it for me though.
My husband expressed an interest before but he doesn't take monthly fee lightly so he never played. Since this announcement though there's a very good chance we both will. :)
