I'm not sure if I'm going to pick this one up at all, kinda seems outdated for me.

I'm not a 'hardcore pvp fiend' at all. In fact, I think PVP is mind-numbingly repetitive and a large percentage of the people who partake in it seem to be socially maladjusted.
That said, hell yes I'm picking up the CE, can't wait to support the game, and can't wait to craft/explore a world that is actually innovative.
Once again, MO is not only for PVP-tards.

While I think the charitable aspect here is admirable, I still don't feel I know enough about how this game will play to commit to any edition, much less a collector's box.
As immortal says, I find PvP repetitive and dull, win or lose, and while I've met some decent PvP players who simply enjoy an adrenaline-rush challenge, I've met far too many "PvP-tards" who are just social maladjusts acting out their pathetic power fantasies.
So ... it's watch and wait for me on this game. If the reviews from the sources I trust are good, after it releases, I'll probably give it a look -- but not before.

PvP is dull and repetitive?
As opposed to what in MMO's, kill 10 rats for farmer Bob?
mysecretid said on 10:50PM 6-27-2009
Ratting and mindless fetch quests? No. I haven't played WoW or original EverQuest in years ...

Yes, assuming the CE isn't ridiculously expensive.
I have high hopes for this game.

I might try this game I am not sure yet. AoC,Dark Fall, Fallen Earth, and many other MMOs claim to be for the "hardcore" PvP crowd. I might try it when it comes out but my gut feeling says it will need at least 6-months to get good.

Games like these require Victims.....back in the day folks either endured gank on sight or didn't play, now you can't sling a dead cat without hitting a MMO which means that games like this are relegated to the land of Micro Niche. I just don't see this being Viable.

Ofc. I will buy the CE version :P Who don't wanna play this über game ? And you get into beta first of all if you buy CE version. The only thing that can stop me is if I'm not fast enought to get on of the 998 or if it costs $130+...

If you don't get the CE, you will never have a chance to get into beta the first wave :/ couse it's the people who pre-order fastest who get beta first.... And if you first try to get CE you lose time...

this game is not pvp-centric.
Combat mechanics and hitboxes are designed to create pve and pvp that is skill based and more sophisticated than any other MMO.
Crafting system is unrivaled, with literally *millions* of craftable items.
Character customization in Mortal is unrivaled by any other current MMOs.
Yes, I'll be buying the Limited Edition Box.

Folks, here we have what's called, a fanboy. These are the same idiots that got roped into believing that Age of Conan was going to be the greatest MMO of all time.
These are the people that ignore that the game crashes every 5 seconds, won't be released until Christmas, and ignore the fact that MANY games have millions of craftable items, and Darkfall already has far better twitch based melee combat.
Also, you're going to wish you never had the character customization as soon as you get into your first battle and your computer crashes.

Question: Is this game only a FPS view? Sorry if that is the wrong term.

We can debate in true long winded fashion the rights and the wrongs, the joys of being bored while being ganked VS waiting around bored while someone drones of predictable tactics even though you've farmed this boss a hundred times already but what you can't argue with is:
"The first thing that will hit the players is the davincian accuracy of the player model; that's right the availability of full frontal nudity. "
Now tell me you don't want to pick up a free trial just to see how that little fact is misused to non-comedy potential. The hours of painful fun that will bring, I'm laughing already at the bad jokes, who cares if they make it work or not. Any devs that think the MMO community will respond well like mature adults (Whatever their real age) has got a big thumbs up from me on the insanely optimistic scale. Cool!

"Dark and Light"
Need I say more? Preordering a game that hasn't had a single public demo is like buying swampland over the Internet. The people who preorder this game are probably the same people who reply to phishing emails. The people in Nigeria like to thank you for your donations.

I will be getting the LE however it will now be delayed, a developer posted saying for two weeks.
http://www.mortalonline.com/forums/14552-important-update-27-06-09-a.html#post329458
On the 25th of June we brought you some good stuff, but today we have to bring you bad news. We have been working very hard to get the shop up and running and for it to accept different methods of payment, however it’s now obvious we have been too optimistic this time as we have encountered several last-minute problems.
Instead of taking the chance that the issues we are facing will all be solved on Monday (29th), and run the risk that one or several of them will remain unsolved, we have decided to delay the opening of the shop for another two weeks. Apart from giving us more time to really work out these issues, it will of course give us time to further prepare for the Beta launch.
More information and a new schedule will be announced on the Mortal Online Game Store soon.
We are obviously very sorry for this delay. We have failed to keep our schedule which we do take very seriously, and we apologize for any inconveniences this may have caused you.
Thank you for your understanding,
The Star Vault Dev team
