Earthrise wallpapers show Eastern Gardens denizens and tamed mutants

Masthead Studios just got in touch with us and sent over two new wallpapers for their upcoming post-apocalyptic game Earthrise. One image shows off a group of kabuki-masked

The second depicts a Continoma soldier, an enforcer of the ruling technocratic elite, face to face with a cybernetically-muzzled mutant. We're not sure if the game's mutants were once human beings, but that metallic covering is actually bolted into the thing's skull, which is much clearer in the max resolution shots they sent over. You can click on the images for larger versions of each, or flip through our gallery with multiple resolutions. Enjoy the eye candy.

I don't know what it is about Earthrise's style, but it just seems unique, despite it more or less falling into the "space marine with mechs and bigass guns style" that people like to lump a bunch of junk into. Maybe its because it is a science fiction MMO that I'm really excited about (SWTOR doesn't count, everyone is excited about it :P), but something about it really grabs my attention.

Really like the first one and I agree with Comrade, Earthrise has a fairly distinct look. Would be awesome if the Kabuki crowd could be playable, or if you could make your character look like that.

If someone can tell me how am I gonna split my time between work, university, Earthrise, All Points Bulletin and, of course, sleep... they should contact me immediately because they would be lifesavers.

I dont think it looks all that unique, but it has a nice feel to it. It seems to take its inspiration from some FPSs because that alien staring down the space marine looks like something out of Quake.
