More moogles than you can shake a chocobo at in the upcoming Final Fantasy add-on

Moogles. A rich, noble race that's been around for ages. Sure, their contributions to society are overlooked -- such as their dedication to keeping your house clean, changing your jobs, and acting like a save point in oh so many Final Fantasy worlds. But that doesn't mean that this race has many more things to share with society.
Things like haunted mog houses, engagement rings, and... um... mogfia bosses? What's going on here?
It's a Moogle Kupo d'Etat, the next add-on expansion pack for Final Fantasy XI! Just like the first pack, A Crystalline Prophecy, this expansion will once again provide a short storyline and an augmentable item at the end, all for the low price of 10 bucks.
This time around, it's the headpiece for the sets! The Champion's Galea, Anwig Salade, and Selenian Cap are all up for grabs once the mini-expansion is completed.
The add-on pack will be available for pre-order on July 5th, and will most likely roll out with the next version update later in July. Check out our gallery of some of the scenes from the upcoming pack, as well as our look at the new items!

Just downloaded the trial and it is impossible to get running. Not in the game itself, just getting the damn thing downloaded, installed and registered took me 2.5 hours to do. That is not including patches.
First I had to register on fileplanet which is a horrible website. Install their crappy software to download the 2gb trial software. I don't mind downloading something so big, but I do mind having to wait in a line and then have my speed bottle-necked by the greedy website because they want me to subscribe. Why not release this through filefront? Would of saved a lot more trouble there.
Afterward, I got it installed, that seemed to go alright. It installed quickly and smoothly. Registering for PlayOnline is another story. I went to register a new account and I needed some sort of registration code that was not given to me at any time leading up to this point. I searched the website and could not find anything. Finally after some prudent Google searching I found a website that emails you a PlayOnline key for trial accounts. This alone took me another 30-45 minutes.
Getting the damn thing registered after that took another 30 minutes because of all the BS info I had to put in. If I recall correctly it was like 3 different passwords for 3 different sections of the service. Completely overkill. Now after 3 hours of diddling with this crap I am finally patching my game which is 19,237 files large and will take 7 hours to patch.

When you first start playonline there's a settings button, go there and set your password to save and you'll only have to enter it once. :)

considering the game is 7 years old, and the amount of data that is always being added to it, 7 hours isn't bad. Sometimes when I reinstall it I have 10-12 hour update times.
That being said, you can reuse the same password on pol, you don't need 3 different passwords. For security purposes, they do ask for your password alot. Late 07, and most of 08, the gil farmers were hacking and stealing accounts at an unbelievable rate.
