They are on the right track but new players still have 25 levels of boring ass no one wants to play stab you eyes out RVR and scenarios to get there. They need about eight more addons like this and to fix or even create some form of crafting then they might be viable. Basically it's way too little way too late, and I expect EA to Earth and Beyond this failboat any day now.

It sucks because they had so much potential and at the end realized what they needed to do.

I must say I reinstalled it and signed up for their free 10 days to try to play either my older characters or create a new one...and within the first 5 levels I realized why I left...its just boring. With absolutely no one playing the scenarios are pointless and I doing the RVR was again a reminder how much the classes aren't balanced. It's sad but I would like to see them put this to rest...and focus their time, energy and money on something better.

Yeah have to say I agree....WAR needs to be like LOD at level 1, no one wanst to slog through all that fail to get to the good stuff. In another note my friend who works at GW tells me they are beyond pissed with EA over the firing of Mark Jacobs, and that GW has the right to take the game elsewhere if they feel it's not performing, EA and them have had some nasty words over the pats month and I wouldn't be surprised if we see law suits and hard feelings before it's all said and done.

I just hope WAR survives because the potential is still there.

The problem I have with the game:

- Animations are bad
- Character models are bad
- PVE is bad
- Combat system is bad
- Classes are all bland and boring, the archetype system sucks.. just makes 4 different classes over 6 races that play the same.
- Scenarios are ruining world PVP
- World PVP is split up over too big of an area
- All the races worlds apart from Humans and Chaos are pointless and empty.
- The way you travel between races worlds is some griffon cinematic where the animation don't even match the sounds.
- The world is very bland and boring
- The lore is really bland in the game
- The crafting shouldn't be in there it sucks
- The balance sucks
- The engine is very clunky and horrible to play with
- Graphics looks like a dated bland version of WoW


The whole game is unfixable, just ditch it and make a new mmorpg thats good.

Warhammer alliance and other locations mostly confirm that Land of the Dead has had a negative impact on RVR. The side not in Land of the Dead is mostly doing RVE (realm vs environment) instead of PVP, then you go in to Land of the Dead for 15 mins of PVP to slaughter people killing mobs, and then the rest of your time you PVE until the other side takes control.

Mythic should have focused on the core issues of the game instead of adding new content. You don't put a band aid on a wound that needs stitches, and that is what Mythic has been doing for the past 10 months.

T4 PVP is horribly broken
Crowd control is out of control
AOE is out of control
Skill balance is too extreme patch to patch
RVR tokens and supply lines (pop caps) backfired
and the list goes on.

AION is getting huge word of mouth in the player community, and guilds are preparing to jump ship. The Fall of 09 is going to be hard for Mythic because they simply can't fix their game by the time other MMO's start coming out.

That's my perspective as the leader of a Rank 40 guild, and over 225 million renown points earned over the past 10 months.

Ok, cry cry cry. It's ok to complain as long as their is some sort of constructive criticism... which most of you have shown that you have no concept of what that may be. I hate how everyone is so gloom and doom all the time and if an MMO makes a mistake (which history has shown that every MMO makes, depends on who you ask) it's done for and there is no positive feedback from whiney players.

Things people really need to think about before you go whining on boards about:

Balance - Why in the world would you say classes aren't balanced? Is it because some classes are way over powered so that everyone playing will notice the scales tipping in their direction every time? No, most people make a false claim because they are killed a couple times by this particular "OP" class. I find most classes to have their strengths and weaknesses and you can't kill battle every class the same way. THAT WAS THE POINT! I wanna click A, A, A while standing here sipping on a juicy juice and kill them without doing thinking or moving. WHAT?! I can't!?! Yep, just as I thought, they're overpowered.

I've been playing game since beta... sure I've stopped a couple of times but I've recently come back after a month or so (due to work, not because it wasn't fun). I'm pleased with the addition of the Land of the Dead. It gives T4 RvR another reason to fight. It's additional incentive to get more people out there and fighting. I've seen a good deal of action. LoTD is still new so some people will tend to ignore the RvR for a little bit. I know I have.

If you don't like the game, stop posting your closed-minded, unthoughtful, untrue criticisms to yourself. Your arguements are invalid and make no sense. I don't think the game is perfect whatsoever, but none are. I see the positives and negatives in the game but do enjoy it. If you don't enjoy it, why crowd the forums so heavily promoting other games? Its really pointless and time consuming on your part. Plus it makes me want to punch you in the face.

I haven't logged in since the day after it went live to both realms.

As soon as I played one night where the PvP (RvR, Scen, even fort and city seiges) went completely unattended, I stopped.

I hated Sigmar Crypts. I hated Lost Vale. I hate hate HATE PVE gear grinds. and in WAR's PvE isn't anything special. Essentially, that's all LotD is. I'd play other games that have much better PvE if that's what I wanted.

The gear/weps/talis are better then anything that can be obtained from Fort or city def, or even drops from players. So, when forts & cities flip, the attitude by 90% of the realm in LotD is, to quote a guildie: "who cares?".

My sub runs out (again) in July. I'm going to let it. I've been frustrated by the implemtation of Mythic for close to a year now. They've outlined some potential fixes... but I feel like it's all talk and little production. Getting a new zone and finishing careers was more important then correcting the mistakes already in the game. Regardless of what they can fix now, to many impressive games are on the horizon to stick with something so underperforming.

I won't criticize the game too much since I haven't been a subscriber since January.

I will only say that I was extremely excited about this game during development, pre-ordered the collector's edition, and played the game like crazy for the first 3-4 months.

I was a DAOC lover at heart, and like a good little boy I *didn't* complain one bit when it wasn't at all like DAOC. I just enjoyed it for what it *did* bring. I was hoping even if it wasn't the same, it would still be fun and fresh and different.

Unfortunately, because gameplay *WASN'T* like DAOC, myself and many like me decided it just wasn't as enjoyable as we wanted it to be.

Too many design decisions (read: not easily changable) remove what was the most enjoyable aspects of DAOC, while not introducing anything new that was compelling enough to stick around for.

I disagree with balance between classes being an issue. A marauder shouldnt do the AoE damage of a Choppa, and a Choppa shouldn't do the single target damage of a Marauder. When taking the single target arch for Choppaz, you should get more debuffs than a marauder spec'd the same way at the expense of damage, and I think that is the design. I do, however, feel that certain classes, like the Marauder, don't perform as well as they should as per their design, and this is an issue WAR has struggled with since launch.

Scenarios are a pretty big failure, and I agree with the lore, it's a pretty shoddy mockery of GW Warhammer lore, designed to force together races that wouldn't normally work together, but the biggest failure of the game is that it brought such innovative concepts as PQs and popularized RvR, which is WAY better than PvP in as much as balance in RvR and PvE are both based on group dynamics, something that should make class balance a very easy thing unlike in WoW where they have to balance for group dynamic in PvE and personal survival and performance in PvP

Ultimately, I see WAR as becoming a junkyard where bits of it will be a source of inspiration for better games in the future.

I canceled my WAR subscription this past weekend; while I had solid fun for roughly 2 months, the ZvZ game (that's zerg vs. zerg) in T4 zones got old fast, and now LotD has just about killed RvR completely on the server I was on. Apparently Mythic is trying to cater to the PvE crowd, or something.. actually, nobody knows what the hell their plans are, they don't seem to know themselves either.

I agree with most people, the game is really bad in general. The world isn't even persistent. You go from zone to zone and you have a loading screen. For me this takes me out of the world entirely. I think WoW does a good job of transitioning between zones.

I also have to say the Color palette in WAR is abysmal. While they are looking to convey that tone, its just not appealing over time and has a negative affect on gameplay.

And finally, my main issue with the game is that I remember, as a healer, you get into pvp you basically HOT everyone then AOE heal spam praying you save people (of course you do slightly more but in massive battles if someone is single targetted they will simply just die, nothing more to it).


I greatly appreciate WAR for trying to make tanking in PvP viable. While it isn't phenomenal, I think it is a good attempt and a good idea just implementation was poor.

Beyond that, Mythic did an awesome job with DAOC, I'm saddened that this game blows chunks.

Actually on my server I am seeing more and more RvR each day.

I think people who quit/cancelled over the first few days are missing out.
