Which version of Aion will be available at launch?
Filed under: Betas, Fantasy, Aion, Launches

NCsoft is hoping that the pairing of flight and fantasy in Aion will prove to be a hit in both North America and Europe. Gamers who were accepted into the betas have been asking the Aion team about which version of the title the Western markets will see at launch. NCsoft has announced: "Aion is planned to release with version 1.5, the third major game update, bringing the content as up to date as possible. The Aion team strives to keep the game content consistent between territories, and releasing with this game version brings us one step closer to this goal."
Our own Lesley Smith has been writing about her experiences with the game through Aion's various beta test phases, particularly the experience of becoming a Daeva as an Elyos or as an Asmodian; we recommend reading her hands-on series if you're interested in this title. Massively will continue to cover Aion leading right up to the game's September launch.

Ahh, thats great news to hear, 1.5 is adding a lot of new customizable options for character creation, and we'll have the leveling shugo dungeon in 1.3 as well.

Heard about this the other day on mmorpg.com, it's really great news. The best thing is that china is only up to like 1.2 or something like that, where we are going to get the most recent version.
Having a "new" MMO release here that already has a years worth of patches and content added in is going to be very refreshing I think.
Can't wait until tomorrow, I managed to get into the beta because fileplanet must have accidentally let in some non subscribers (got myself a key from there).

Truly sad a finished product wont be released. More of the industry claiming this is the way its always been done, simply criminal. This goes for all MMO's not just Aion. This industry need some serious regulation by itself and external reviewers. Release a finished product for once and dont worry about if you/they meet some artificial deadline.
Instead they release (go gold) with the "most stable" test build, which you folks pay for and then patch it at release or much later. We need some serious motivation to stop this type of conduct assumption in the industry.
I will be checking the game out this sunday at my brothers house, since he wants to take the time to dl it, lets see how "extremely polished" it is according to the manager in charge.

Er, Aion has been finished since 2008, when it launched in Korea. It went gold ages ago. People have already been playing it for something like 8 months, and it's been updated several times since then.
This article is about how far down the update line the EU/US release will be, not how polished the launch will be.

@Graill: I have no idea what you're talking about and I have a feeling neither do you.

This is the most uninformed, ignorant post I've seen all day. Terrible.

This is excellent news as most NCsoft customers usually expect to be behind Korea by several months when it comes to content update. Hopefully this is an indication that after launch all patches and expansion will be released globally and/or on a timely basis.
In case anyone even thinks of bringing up China's version I'd like to make clear NCsoft does not publish Aion in China and for some reason they don't update their client as expediently as NCsoft does. :/
