The Daily Grind: Are you looking forward to any gaming conventions?
Filed under: Culture, Events, real-world, MMO industry, Opinion, The Daily Grind
August and September are notoriously known as the months of gaming conventions, and ultimately, two months where we're pretty busy reporting announcements and general event coverage. We have both GamesCom and GamesCon (yes, confusing), GenCon, BlizzCon, GDC Austin, PAX, Tokyo Game Show and Dragon*Con to think about. Plus, there are countless smaller cons all around the world celebrating the gaming and general geek culture.
So which conventions are you most looking forward to in the coming months? Since we already have plans to attend a few of these conventions, we're curious to know which ones our readers see as the most important to them. Let us know your annual favorites that you usually attend, plan to attend for the first time or simply want to hear more about.

I will be returning to PAX again this year. CCP put on an amazing party last year, I'm hoping that they have another one planned!

Dragon*Con is on my agenda again this year. Went for the first time last year, and had an incredibly awesome time. The MMO track had a lot to offer, and it looks like they're going even bigger this year.

I'd add GDC Europe to that list also. Especially with the imminent CCP announcement taking place there.

2 stand out for me, because they will be showcasing FFXIV. Gamescon in Germany, and the Tokyo Game Show. Hopefully, if the game showcases anywhere else, I'll be interested in those as well. We FF fans are HUNGRY for the new FFs, especially us online fans and we hate/love the mystery Square likes to put around it's games. Can't wait for more INFO!

Dude, if you're in Tennessee, then you are no more than a 4 hour drive from Atlanta, right? (6 if you're way up in Bristol)
Dragon*Con... Atlanta... Labor Day Weekend...
Dunno how much bigger you like your conventions, but there aren't many bigger than that one.

I just want Blizzcon to happen so my mind can rest as ease knowing D3 is still eons away due to the teaser nonsense they'll reveal about the game...

I want to see whats going to happen in Blizzcon but the only convention that I might happen to attend is not on the list. Its called QuakeCon and its in Grapevine (near Dallas, just north of DFW international airport), Tx. Its not much, but its what I can drive to :P
To Max, I think the GDC Austin thing is the closest you'll get. I think its like a 2 hour drive, but it has been years since I've driven down that way.

PAX always seems to have some good stuff get announced around it. Blizzcon should be interesting too, just due to Blizzard always showing off something new.

Down here in Australia all we have really is GenCon Oz, so that's where I'll be going.

Im going to GenCon.
Last years E-gaming area was pretty big with quite a few MMO's present. It will be interesting to see how this year compares.
