Fallen Earth launch date moved up to September 15th

The Fallen Earth team has announced today that they will be pushing the launch day of their post-apocalyptic MMO up to September 15th. Originally, the launch date was to be six days earlier, but because of some concerns over server and client optimization issues, they've decided to push it back.
"We've seen a lot of new beta testers online recently and we've gotten insight into things that need to be tweaked," said Colin Dwan, project manager for Fallen Earth. "Our primary concern is making sure game play experience is as smooth as possible on launch day."
Open beta testers will still be able to play as usual, but those who pre-ordered the game will begin on September 9th instead of the previously-announced early start date of September 4th.

Do they really think a 6 day push is going to do anything? No offense but the last time I played the beta it felt like they needed 6 months.

I agree entirely. Six days? That's not long enough to do anything worth doing.

I agree, both CO and FE are in pretty bad shape and need a lot more polish time to be even remotely launch worthy. Sadly both games seem to have run out of money and have to push out in their current condition.
In the end we the gamers are the ones that pay (pun intended) because we have to either choose between skipping a game that might have some eventual potential or paying for an inferior product that has no business being put on store shelves in their current conditions. Sadly if you've played MMO's in the past, all of this isn't anything new to you, it just seems the launches just keep getting worse and worse despite many failures over the last 3 years.

I do feel for developers like that though who are put in a really tough position. It can be really fucking rough in the industry.

6 months?
Your being nice. I figured with the closed beta and recent open house they had been showing how they can match their graphics and gameplay to match Asherons Call they would be ready to go. Are they stating now they may not want to use 1980's performance and graphics?!!
.......Laugh, they need a year at least.

Unfortunately there is still work needs doin, "par for the course" in MMO's to launch before it's ready...

Ditto what 1 & 2 said. The game is really not ready for prime time. Get ready for a pay to play beta MMO. They need to income, obviously, so they are pushing out before its really ready. Sad for the game, the people who play it and MMOs in general.

Fallen Earth would have been a hit if it had released in 2003 with it's current level of quality.
In 2009.. yeah not so much.

Hmm. Something smells not quite right here.
* Icarus Studios divests itself of the actual Fallen Earth IP. Why? Only reason I can think of is to limit their own liability.
* Fallen Earth is actually being published by a 'game-mill' company, Southpeak.
I am thinking this would be much better starting out as a F2P type game. The premium AAA subscription model may be more that folks are willing to do for this one.
