NCsoft posts epic video interview with Aion Lead Designer Yongchan Jee

GamesCom is in full swing with NCsoft taking full advantage of social networking, from twittering about their activities to streaming video on Facebook in order to promote their newest MMO. Aion has been the talk of the show with everything from an eye-catching booth and drool-worthy swag to live theatre (a must-see even if the acting is cringe-worthy) to an interview with the Korean development team.
Associate Producer Lani Blazier took to the stage to put the audience's questions to Aion's Lead Designer Yongchan Jee in an epic seventy minute video. This includes discussing the origins of the combat system and PvPvE, what makes Aion different from other games like WoW and Lord of the Rings Online to offering advice for would-be games designers. The interview itself is great because it's not just all about the English devs, instead we're getting to the source and a chance to listen to direct answers from one of the creators of 2009's most anticipated MMO.

70 minutes? I see a 10 minute video. And when I watched it on twitter it was a 10 minute of video and 60 minutes fo dead air...looks like someone forgot to turn the camera off.
Still epic though...in that it's nice and refreshing to see direct answers to questions rather than devs and producers skirting around questions with "maybe", "possibly" and we'll see"...

Some good answers in there, I'm curious to see what they mean by housing and if it will be on contested ground, and flying a part of housing? That was suggested 2 years ago on aion source, very cool to see it might happen XD
I'm laughing at people who ever ridiculed those asking if mounts would ever be available, just goes to show it doesn't hurt to think outside the box.

I very much hope the there will be low level instances in game, that would just be the icing on the PvE cake for me ; especially seeing as i'm going in with a group of friends at launch. The idea of mounts sounds pretty interesting as well, maybe a posibility of mounted combat coming into the game? Even better maybe some flying whale mounts ; )

NCSoft gains yet another notch on their belt this week as Gamescom announces Aion "Best Online Game". With so much praise and continually growing popularity in the West the sky really is the limit for Aion.

Today could not have taken off with a much better start, as winners of the gamescom awards were announced. Aion stayed true to its core qualities and outshone all competition when climbing to the very top of the winners' stand. Not only was Aion crowned king of MMO gaming, but of all online games present.
That is all...and LoL you nyerks still playing your VW Beetle game while the rest will be playing a Ferrari.

WoW wasn't at GamesCom that's why Aion won... * I'm not a fanboy btw* Aion is a great game but won't ever beat WoW in awards.
