SWTOR's Sith Warrior detailed, cataloged
Filed under: Classes, New titles, News items, Star Wars: The Old Republic
Gamescom provided us with plenty of information on the newly revealed Sith Warrior class for Star Wars: The Old Republic. So much is already known, making the newly revealed official web page feel like a safe place to keep all that information rather than a source of geeky revelation.
We're nothing if not persistent in our quest to discover curious new things, and such is what we found in the concept art on the Sith Warrior's Holonet entry. BioWare seems to be outdoing themselves when it comes to designing various lightsaber hilts for the unscrupulous Sith. Additionally, reading the overview text for the class reveals two storylines: One where your character aligns themselves with the recently formed Dark Council, and the other a path of the renegade seeking their own goals.
Watching the short videos cemented it for us, most likely. BioWare will be hard pressed to show us another Empire class that warrants a significant chunk of our time. Then again, with PAX just one week away, they may just do that.

If Blizzard really include all they show us at Blizzcon this game will have a real hard time getting people to play it.

Wow, could you get a little more WoW fanboy-ish?
First off, if you actually knew ANYTHING, the new Warcraft expansion is yet another, step in the 'easy/bad' direction. Which is making all the hardcore players think alot less of playing. They failed once again. Tauren paladins? No. Have you checked the forums lately? People are extremely annoyed at what they've done to the game.
Secondly, if you actually knew ANYTHING about the mmo community, you should know that Star Wars is easily one of the most anticipated games in a very long time. And many people are already destined to quit the mmo they will be playing, to switch to SW:TOR.
Thirdly, I guarantee Blizzards release day wont affect SW:TOR.

Whi... I got news for you it not gonna get more easy them this game all you do really is play a interactive movie where you choose the right thing to say or the wrong thing to say.... like any other bioware game. I think anything WoW related even a Patch will effect SW:TOR number...

Tauren Paladins? Really? Wow, holy cow...
Jack said on 1:12PM 8-29-2009
Tauren Paladins why not..... they already can become priest and shaman why not Paladin... world has change things look pretty bad its time the Tauren learn some new tricks! It beats having a 100000 Siths running around :(
All in a time where anyone care about but the fan fiction buff a real Star Wars mmo need play after the 6 movies and use all the plot lines that the 6 movies make and got the movie people in it that we care about.... this is just junk and the main reason I never was able to complete the 2 games that pre date this. I hated the story line and stop caring after 1 boring long talk clip and a other boring talk till drop bla bla bla clip.

Your vocabulary makes me cringe.
Like I've stated, you know absolutely nothing about the mmo community.
Thinking a WoW patch will hurt SW:TOR numbers? HAHAHA.

"Tauren Paladins? Really? Wow, holy cow... "
I totally got that. You rock.

Jack, you just plunged yourself into a huge hole.
Yet again, showing you don't know anything.
"Tauren Paladins why not..... they already can become priest and shaman why not Paladin."
You think Taurens can be priests, huh? Check again, pal.

If they wipe out all taren and Gnomes all together. I will not be sad about the lost. I do not really play a Cow.... But I do have a level 80, gear rating 2500 blood elf holy/ret Paladin and a Night elf Druid I barley play.
I only got two toons like I hate leveling the old world is a pain really.... Thats why I am happy there will go back to it and remake a big part of it all at the same time allow flying in old world and process the storyline of both the world and bring back the WAR! they also bring guild leveling and cheesements that make guilds more fun. The funny part is that World of Warcraft will become what I think Warhammer Online was after all this marketing and no deliver.

Nobody cares about the forum-whiners...or the 'mmo community'.

That said, this wanton thread-shitting is getting annoying.

Wow ... you almost had me ... excellent Troll if I do say so myself. First you try and be a huge fan-boy then you don't even know about the game you are being a fan-boy too and you "try" keep it all together.
Simply excellent

Pointing out the fact that nobody of importance cares about Blizzard's official forums or the ever-capricious 'mmo community' makes me a fanboy? Whatever.

I love Star Wars, but I have to say what Bioware is doing with this game does not appeal to me at all. The art direction looks bland and childish. The "iconic" classes looks boring to me. The game looks linear in its alledged pursuit of story.
I just can't get excited. Not very Star Warsy to me..

I love Star Wars too but SWTOR does not appeal to me either because until now from what I've seen,it does not feel like an MMO but a single player with co-op :(

I'm really worried that this class will be too powerful compared to the others. I'm worried it'll become the bright wizard of SWTOR. Please keep Mythic's combat and careers team away from this game. And please don't fall into the same trap they did by trying to balance armies instead of individual classes.

Big thumbs up for you for being the first out of 12 comments that finally talked about the actual article!

It all makes sense now. I was always wondering why Jack feels the need to put down every single game you guys mention on Massively - "what games DOES he like?" I thought to myself. I never considered the fact that he's just a blatant WoW fanboy.

I am no officially worried about this game. First of all the Jedi nor the Sith are evil. Their paths are different, Sith search for inner peace and self worth and Jedi search for outward peace. Both are a cult of war. I hate how this game will demonize the sith when only under the reign of the Darth Sidious were they ever truely evil. Even then the Emipre =/= Sith.
"Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.
The Force shall free me."
or
"There is no emotion; there is peace.
There is no ignorance; there is knowledge.
There is no passion; there is serenity.
There is no chaos; there is harmony.
There is no death; there is the Force."
Neither sound evil, just the first sounds more reasonable and the second sounds like some modern day cult. (Hint: First is the Sith code)

Even when the Sith aren't trying to take over the galaxy and being blatantly evil, their doctrine is entirely based upon cruelty and domination. The Dark/Light dichotomy has been called into question, allowing for various shades of gray. Sith methods and certain Sith abilities may be acceptable based upon an individual's intentions (for example, it might be okay to use Force Lightning for good). But nNothing in the Star Wars fiction has ever suggested that the Sith aren't bad people, or that their doctrine is good.
The Jedi also aren't a cult of war. Unfortunately, the Jedi Council often let's itself become a pawn in various conflicts. The Jedi are supposed to be mediators and diplomats, not warriors.
