WRUP: Short and sweet edition
It seems like this weekend everyone's kind of off doing their own thing. Kyle is back from PAX and resting up. Seraphina, Shawn, Liz and I are back from Dragon*Con and trying to catch up on sleep as well. Of course, while we're taking some time to catch up on sleep and laundry, we're also getting in some gaming time. Curious as to what games are on our plates? Well read on - and be sure to tell us what you're playing too.
Kyle Horner (@KyleHorner) - Lots of Champions Online for me this weekend. Free Retcons, hurray! My early start character really did need it and now I can actually play him.
James Egan (@JamesEgan) - My MMO time will be spent in EVE Online (shocker!), where I'll be scanning down wormholes and hunting down suitable player targets within, solo. That's the beauty of the Pilgrim and the covert ops cloaking device though - you can pick your fights. My exploration alt has, for the time being, become more of my main and is growing somewhat malevolent.
Aside from that, my (awesome) friends pooled some cash to get me an Xbox 360 Elite for my birthday and have given me some games to play as well. It would be rude to not play the hell out of them. I must be courteous, you see.
Brendan Drain (@Nyphur) - With what little time I'll get this weekend I'll be doing sneaky, secret, sneaky things in EVE Online and working on a game design project.
Krystalle Voecks (@Krystalle) - I think I'm set for games for at least a little while. I'm currently playing Fallen Earth, EVE Online, Earth Eternal, Hello Kitty Online, Kingdom of Loathing, and my other half just got Beatles Rock Band for me. Now I just need to figure out where to download some more time or sleep. Either one would work, really.
Tateru Nino (@TateruNino) - Champions Online for me, along with some project work in Second Life. There's also two betas I need to spend some time with, but one of them isn't going very far unless they fix their ridiculous login interface.

Yet no one and no review yet talks about how in a supposed "Casual MMO" a person can damage a character enough that it's unplayable without a respec?
Swear every review of CO has been of the Open/HS, not one I've read reflect's the game that's been going since launch day.

I bet that most people that needed the respec had serious flaws to begin with in their character's build. Most of these people that needed it had only been playing for a very short time. Anytime you have such a flexible character building system it is going to take a few tries to get it figured out.
Pre-patch god-mode let players get away with having poor builds. Now you need to have a better plan for your character. I'd be willing to bet that most people's supposedly 'unplayable' characters would be fine to play, but now they simply know how to build one better so they prefer not to play that character.
Also, why are you assuming that 'casual' has to mean easy and thoughtless with no consequences? Casual gamers want the game to be as deep, complex, and challenging as anyone else. They just prefer to do it in shorter bursts.
