Free Battleswarm beta keys for you to join the fray

We've heard a lot of people asking for details on MMOFPS games, and for more indie titles. As such, when we got an offer of 5,000 beta keys for Battleswarm: Field of Honor, we couldn't resist snapping them up for our readers. Yes, indeed, you read that right - we have five thousand beta keys for this new MMO/FPS/RTS hybrid game. Sounds interesting? We thought so too.

The idea is this - if you want to play on the FPS side, roll a human. If you want to play on the RTS side, roll a "bug." Then you'll be able to battle with/against other players in a massive online world. Between the interesting mechanics, the fact that Nolan Bushnell is involved in this project, and the ever-awesome pricetag of "free", we are so there. Fileplanet seems to be getting a lot of flak these days and it is for good reason. Bad waiting lines and semi-fast download speeds make it not viable. However what it does have is how many people use it. This makes downloading easier since everyone knows it and has it.

So you can already tone that number down to 4 999

I know it's not Massively's fault the game is downloaded through Fileplanet, but could you guys please let us know that beforehand? It seems a bunch of us will just be wasting the keys, because of that fact.

Massively you have been awesome with us, getting us Beta keys and the hook ups great articles and stories. That's why I feel bad about what I am going to say next. Fileplanet is total garbage. I have not been able to get into 1 game out of about 5-6 betas because of their crap download software/system. All of that... I usually try for about 2 hours to get into a game or to make it work, after that 2 hour mark I say FCuk it. Only to find out most games are crap anyhow. It would be nice just once to be able to download a beta client and actually try one of these games out. I appreciate the reads but I Failplanet is something I won't be using good luck to everyone else

I am not a Fileplanet member but have had no problems getting whatever they host.

So, Fileplanet offers reliable and FREE downloads of very large files, and you complain because you have to wait 15 minutes? Sure, I hate that Fileplanet subscribers get exclusive betas from time to time, but overall Fileplanet does a bang-up job of providing free downloads. Bandwidth and storage aren't free.

I'm confused. Why all the hate for file planet? Just because you have to wait a few minutes? Hardly seems like a valid complaint when contrasted with the speeds and size of the files they offer for free.

If the problems having to sign up, then boo hoo. Cancel the news letter and they never bother you, in fact I don't have a single e-mail in my in-box from fileplanet in over 2 years.

Not that I love them I just hate it when people complain without a valid reason. Or are they just a popular place to hate these days? :P

I only managed to download 10 megs before FilePlanet failed and my download froze...

i guess i won't be trying this game...

You pay for a download service, betas are a perk.

I was a FilePlanet subscriber for years, and it was invaluable, especially when it came time to patch a new WoW install.

I just downloaded this game without being a subscriber, started the DL and did something else until it was loaded. It was effortless.

I despise fileplanet, but was able to get to the download with bugmenot. The concept has me very interested.
