Get Champions Online for $30 on Amazon, today only
Filed under: Super-hero, News items, Champions Online
Amazon's "Deal of the Day" today just happens to be Champions Online, so if you were waiting for a price drop (or a deal this good) then get on over there and grab it while the deal lasts. If you're not sure what the game is all about, wWe've got our WoW players guide to Champions Online, as well as our recent interview on current and upcoming updates to the game with its design director Bill Roper.
We'd say something more, but there's a 40% off sale for a freshly released MMO and... well, why are you still reading this?

To bad it's not digital or something. I'm Canadian so by the time I get it and the shipping costs.. It would end up being full retail price :(
If only if I could have the key for that price.

I'm no retail genius, but I'll go out on a limb here and guess there's a reason they're willing to offer such a drastically reduced price 3 weeks after launch?

Indeed you aren't, they do one day offers with many items, most of them are quite popular too.
Now if it was a lasting offer it could be intresting to speculate.

40% off? My goodness! I need to watch Amazon more often. I've never seen a game get sliced in almost half ***LESS THEN A MONTH*** after it was released.
You sir, are blatantly ignorant and delusional.
It's 40% off, b/c they haven't moved the stock for shit.

You do not make me change my opinion that you just have a massive axe to grind with CO.

Are you certain this is a one-day-deal thing?
Amazon.co.uk has already cut the price from RRP £29.99 to £17.99 (which is precisely 40%) as the new standard price, and its the exact same situation at Play.com.
If this is a one-retailer one-day deal in the US then you're not getting much of a deal over there.

I'm wondering if this has less to do with the quality of the game and more to do with how competitive the market is and is going to continue to be. Two more quality MMOs launched yesterday. Developers are sure gutsy these days.

"well, why are you still reading this?"
I did my time in beta. No reason to pay for it. I'm happy that others enjoyed it but I never felt that Cryptic actually read any of my feedback (which I *always* put in after playing during a test session). I'll play something a little more seasoned until something fun comes out.

You don't change the facts that the game is collecting dust at Amazon's inventory and they need to unload it, even at a loss.

that is pure speculation from your part.

I likethe idea that it is a very competitive market right now. I have no reason to think otherwise. I'm having fuun, and so are my friends I play with. I don't have time to sit around pondering the possibility that the thing I have fun with may be suffering. I have no control over it, if that is even the case.

I love the this new age of psychic economics that MMOs have created.
