ah Garry Gannon, king of self promotion. i think i will skip this episode. the way he closed Gax left a bad taste in my mouth. - he showed little to no respect for the people that WAS posting quality articles on the site.

So Gary, when are you going to have Ryan on Gamebreakr? The show needs more swearing and alcohol.

@HEX Sorry you feel that way about the closing of GAX. I tried to make the closing as smooth as possible for all...I announced the closing and left the site up for 30 days to allow everyone to archive their posts. Sorry if you lost anything...if your looking for something you posted I may be able to try and get it for you...let me know if I can help.

Would anyone be able to tell me where the opening theme song from this podcast comes from?

@GaryGannon it wasnt the closure that got my nerd rage going it was a comment on twitter/FFeed when you said that there was little point posting on gax becasue of the quality of the audience.
I cant remember the exact words you use but you made it clear that you felt gax had failed and you didn't want to be associated with it.There where some quality blogs and painting everyone with the same brush was not polite or fair.
/nerd_Rage: status-vented.

OMG a celebrity replied to my question! Thanks, Shawn. I found Mike's website ( http://www.mikemusic.com/ ), which full of great stuff. Also, your Massively Speaking is great stuff, as is Through The Aftermath.

@HEX Hey, I dont have the exact wording in front of me but I think your referring to something I said about the site becoming less and less valuable to everyone. I also said there were some great bloggers on there but without leadership/moderators/editors the site was breaking down.
And the not wanting to associate myself with it any longer was in reference to all of the users who wanted me to just leave it up and running with free hosting and let it be a free for all. And I stand by what I said..I do not want to be associated with that. Im sorry but for all I know the site could have turned into a porn site and my name was prominently displayed as the creator.
Anyway, Im gonna leave it at that :)
I had an awesome time on Massively Speaking this week...thanks again Shawn :)

The problem I have with Age of Conan is the world doesn't feel like a world as theres loading screens every 30 seconds and you click on npcs and get teleported somewhere else. If I'm to play an MMO then I want it to be a world rather than a bunch of levels otherwise I can't get into it. This is something that'll never be fixed as they'd have to make everything fully 3D where atm theres alot of 2D backgrounds and all of that.
Also the problem I have with grouping in mmorpgs is they all have levels and it's a really big effort to find groups to do content you want to do as everyone is at the end level. So I prefer to be able to solo right through the game instead of doing this quest chain only to need a group I can't find at the end and having to miss out on content.
What mmorpgs need to do is have a SWG pre CU or EVE or Planetside like system where as soon as you jump into the game you can join your friends. I mean I don't see the point of linear level systems anymore like WoW where you have to grind 79 levels until you get to the fun part with your friends. Just let me start at level 80 if that is the case. WoW would be alot better if the world content was done for fun like SWG had it and the progression you had was via talent points every time you gained a level. Instead of your health and stats getting better. This would mean that all content and the world would be busy all the time as people were doing different things at different times, instead of it being linear. Also it would mean you could jump in with your friends and start playing right away.
