Star Trek Online details crew and officers

Cryptic's steady release of information regarding Star Trek Online has taught us to keep an eye out for new articles, and today's latest news didn't disappoint, offering a rundown of the crew and bridge officers, and how they'll function in gameplay. The general crew members are the ubiquitous redshirts (yes, they can be injured or killed in battle), background workers in charge of keeping up with the myriad tasks that you and your officers simply don't have time for. They'll take care of maintenance and repair, pitch in to repel boarding parties, and generally keep you free to deal with more important things.
Bridge officers play a more important role, and unlike crew can be directly interacted with and assigned to specific stations on the ship: Science, Tactical, or Engineering. Both officers and stations are assigned ranks, and different types of ships focus more heavily on different types of stations, allowing for a very wide variety of gameplay.
As with the previous updates, many more details are available on the STO site.

I wanna know how are the roles going to handled when you have multiple captains (friends) on one ship or is that even possible?

As it stands now, that is not possible. One player to each ship.

Don't take this the wrong way but Cryptic has said months ago that there wouldn't be more than one player per ship at launch (if ever), meaning only you (the captain) controls the ship and no one else can join to man any other station on the ship.
They also said that you wouldn't see your Starship interior (unless you are being boarded) for now, they want to include post-launch the ability for you to walk about your ship or at least to have access to your own cabin, decorate it and the ability to invite other players (captains) to visit.

Right, multiple friends = multiple ships... I'm not even sure you see your ship interior currently when you are being boarded, the only mention of seeing ship interiors I've read about is in the course of missions/episodes boarding other ships. If they had the graphics for all the ship bridges (for being boarded) then allowing you to walk your bridge during a quiet moment in the game would be trivial... I don't think this is the case... given the number of ships they are planning at release (and many of those classes have drastically different bridge-layouts) I'd guess its just a matter of 'bang for the buck'... its a 'nice' thing to be able to walk your ship (and I hope it gets added not too long after launch) but not a game-breaker for most players, and potentially a LOT of work to accomplish.

Are you ever going to see your ship's "Crew Members"? I thought we were not going to be able to walk around our own ships.
I think limited walking in your ships would be nice. For example: Walk into turbo lift then down a hall to the transporter room (away missions), go to the bridge (space movement, battles, etc) or into your ready-room (Find Missions, Save game, & Game Options)

If this becomes RTS-like in resource management of crew I think I'll lose interest quickly. Hopefully there will be an cruise-control button. I'd rather focus on space battles and away missions.
