EVE soundtrack performed by 16 string symphony orchestra

The "HTFU" video by CCP Games employees Permaband got all the attention around EVE Fanfest 2009, but there was something else a bit different that attendees of the annual player gathering were treated to -- a live performance of EVE Online's in-game music. The performance was given by DJ Margeir and his Symphony Orchestra; unlike the game soundtrack, some songs have accompanying vocals. It's a very different take on the familiar sounds many of us have been flying with for years in EVE.
CCP Games made the Fanfest performance available on YouTube, and we've got the video of this embedded for you after the jump.

Indeed it does. You can find it if you look around for it to download. It's really a very calming, soothing soundtrack. I have friends who just listen to EVE's music and don't even play the game... or video games at all for that matter.

normal music ranges from uninteresting to very nice and combat music is a mix of rock/ trance/ electro ectr, randomly kicking in when you warp to a pocket again some good some bad.
what I would prefer is of course "combat" music not be hidden and only applicable when warping in a space dungeon combat but also the option to have some parts of the music out of the eternal loop altogether.
anyway as far as the original topic goes I was feeling sorry I missed this, since I was there, but now that I see the video I don't feel that bad.

Yea it soothing till you go into a mission, where it gets all weird and goes to guitar rifts and kinda acid metal without the vocals. I never understood that.

I personally don't really like the EVE music.
Whenever I hear it in game, it makes me yawn too much to be able to play properly.

I actually listen to the eve soundtrack when I'm trying to work...it's a very good mix of peaceful, non-distracting stuff.

Below the Asteroids is the best one of the bunch. Too bad they didn't do it on the live thing.

Very nice! Maybe they'll add vocal tracks for (insert current name of Walking In Stations here) when that goes live.
They vocals were very nice, I hope that is part of the in-station soundtracks.
