Champions Online adds Paypal for Game Time Cards

Filed under: Super-hero, Business models, News items, Champions Online

The subject of how to pay for gaming seems to have come up around here a lot this week. LotRO is rolling out Welcome Back Week, ONE has introduced the Power-Up game card and Massively readers offered their opinions on game cards in general.

Champions Online got in on the act today by announcing that Paypal is now a payment option for users to buy 30, 60, or 180 day Game Time Cards. This no doubt comes as great news for those players who didn't have the option of traditional credit card payment, and Champions Online made a point to thank their international players for offering "extremely useful feedback regarding the various payment options around the world."

Champions also stated that they're working on adding Paypal for recurring subscriptions as well, a move that will open the door even more to players whose only option has been Paypal. This can only mean good news for everyone involved - Champions gains more players, and fans without access to credit cards are no longer on the outside looking in.
