Warhammer Online brings the scary with Daemon Moon Rising

"The Moon Rises and Chaos Reigns" begins the announcement over on the Warhammer Online site. Warhammer Online is hosting an in-game event for Halloween from October 23rd until November 2nd.
Mythic Entertainment Executive Producer Jeff Hickman says "This is a terrifying time of year within the world of Warhammer and the Daemon Moon Rising live event is our way of fighting against the darkness that encompasses the land, We call on all players to rise up against the malevolent creatures that threaten the land and keep safe the Realms. But beware, for under the cold, dark madness of the Daemon Moon, anything can happen!"
Sounds good to us. Daemon Moon Rising offers treats throughout the empire, a new Realm vs. Realm scenario, a public quest with the intriguing title of Daemonball Rally, and an event quest that charges players with the task of collecting and defeating daemon-possessed carnival masks. Event participants are offered quite a few souveniers and rewards, so Warhammer fans will want to be sure they don't miss out. After all, who wouldn't want something called the Face-Eater's Mask?

Me. I couldn't give a waffle about this. I logged in yesterday to check out the new patch and the supposed performance improvements, only to discover that my frame-rate had actually dropped from what it was previously. I moved straight to the account page and cancelled my account. I'm tired of waiting for Mythic to figure out how to program and produce a quality product.

Well my framerate increased dramatically. I also didn't crash once. The graphics felt smoother, nicer, and the streamlined starting experience for Destruction was a breath of fresh air. Wait till you see the flying Dwarf Choppers when you come over the first rise after your entrance into the world. It was epic. Then you get to shoot them down. :D
Now for them to somehow get people to come back as this game needs a healthy pop to really have fun in.

Yesterday I was playing in zergs three or four times anything I've seen in months and totally without hitching. This is obviously something that's going to vary wildly depending on your hardware setup, but I can only say for me and most people I heard from in my 6-man and wbs, it's a big difference for most of us.
