Cryptic isn't spreading Klingon propaganda, but it's still awesome
Filed under: Culture, News items, Star Trek Online

We asked Cryptic if they were involved, but their official response was that, sadly, they weren't. Even still, the video is nothing but pure awesome and we hope that whomever is responsible makes a Federation variant at some point -- or even a Borg version!
Check out the video after the break, and afterwards you will come to love Qo'noS as much as we now do.

Rough, and mostly correct, translation from io9 (http://io9.com/5389776/animated-klingon-propaganda-could-be-a-viral-video-for-trek-2):
We are inhabitants of the Klingon Empire
be many, 12, (??? - something about arguing)
and expand-this, it influence's, many day, many all
Do you influence the planet?
How?
Let's go, we apporach you. He joins achivement
I contribute, he enjoyed the Klingon planet
Empire's (??cheo??) all
Civilisation (??'ejIQ) wealth
He competes, he ends prematurely
and Well done! Eat!
Our Klingon janISSary
The brave "be-manyer-ness"'s "be fairer"
You take away cargo, from invadeness he joins
and soliders "get-in-ness" users are many
Forcefully the empire's Kling protects something importants planet
"Influence-ness" and "decay-ness" "consider-be-possible-ness"
(???) Dictator-?-zero nonsence-!#?curse*@#-more-cursing
Your small arms (NB: weapons) put-down-ness
hearts scattered around cause-to-be-open-ness
and he strokes and immediatly he joins the Klingon empire.
Ready. but but conquer
Immediatly collect justice?

At the end of the video, there's a web address in Klingon...http://www.tlhingan.org/
At that site, they have the same video, a "introduction" (in English), and downloadable wallpapers, etc.
Still no clue what this is about. Did a "whois" on the domain, and it was registered back in May 09 by "Tanas T'var".
And yes, everything from the address on in the domain registry info is...in Klingon. lol

I smell viral marketing. I guess we'll see if the website links to the STO forums or something later on, but for now, I do think that was pretty good.

It's a broad range of communist propaganda films rolled into one. It's not Soviet or Chinese, it's all of them.

This video shows how completely, utterly awful and amateurish Cryptic's timeline videos are. My god, they suck. This video is frigging masterful.

I can't agree more - the Cryptic videos are horrible. If this is for Cryptic - then there is hope for the MMO yet.

This isn't propaganda from a new movie.
The guy posted a new video up tonight, with another website linked to as www.xifan.com but theres nothing but gibberish, doesn't look klingon.
But this isn't viral anything for a new movie, there isn't even a script yet, and a movie would be 2 years off at the earliest.
