Aika announces closed beta
Filed under: Betas, PvP, News items, Free-to-play
If you're looking for some more RvR action outside of Warhammer Online, then you might want to take a look at Gala-Net's newest addition to their MMO lineup, Aika.Aika is a new free-to-play MMO with the same type of nation versus nation bent that Warhammer and World of Warcraft provide to their players. Players get to defend territory during castle sieges, can steal artifacts from the enemy side, a la Dark Age of Camelot, and participate in the standard PvP battlegrounds.
The game has just gone into a closed beta testing phase for America, but getting in couldn't be simpler. Simply go visit the Aika website, fill out a survey and you'll be entered for a chance to participate in the closed beta.

And let the cycle begin anew..
Hundreds of disenfranchised WoW fans leaving because of the new RMT shop will hail this as their new haven away from Blizzard-Activision.
The game will release and they will all pre-order and then whine vociferously about everything from 'the grind', unbalanced PvP, lack of GM support and any number of other things they perceive as 'different to WoW'.
A few months later the servers will be dead in the water with a few die-hards still going, while the rest of the tourists go back to WoW.
And then shortly after.. the cycle will begin again with a new MMO...

I think you might be in the wrong place to read news about MMO's.

Nah, I'm just trying to make news more efficient by predicting future events before they actually happen.
That or I'm just bitter.

I'd say you're just bitter, take the stick out of your ass.
Also, WoW players usually temporarily migrate to other pay to play MMOs, and they're usually justified in complaining about the games they switch too (AoC and WAR weren't exactly masterpieces.)

@Plastic Rat: Aika is a new free-to-play MMO. So you might want to re-phrase what you said or continue looking like a 10 year old.

That's got to be the worst promotional video I've ever seen. Seriously, someone at Aika needs to learn how to edit a video.
This game looks like Aion without the wings, and I bet the large scale pvp is plagued with the same problems.
@inferno3387
I sure hope that's someone else's vent and you're just being a prick. The thought of anyone needing friends so much they put vent info on here is equal parts sad and funny.
