CCP reaching out to potential EVE players with "Get a Clone"
Filed under: Sci-fi, EVE Online, Professions

EVE Online creators CCP Games are taking a different approach to promoting the game with a new website. All players in EVE's setting of New Eden are "capsuleers" -- starship pilots who have attained immortality through cloning technology. CCP's "Get a Clone" site invites you to "Clone yourself. Not the way you are, but the way you want to be." The site belongs to Duvolle Laboratories, one of EVE Online's NPC corporations, and provides an in-character introduction to some of the basic career paths a pilot can explore in the game.
But first, Duvolle Labs asks you five questions that pin down how morally flexible you are (as a game character). Would you rather build or tear down? Would you risk your life for money or glory? Is success is measured by profits or progress? Your responses to five questions Duvolle Laboratories asks places you in one of four broad career paths - military, exploration, business, or industry.
Whether you're already playing the game or are just curious about it, have a look at the Duvolle Laboratories cloning site and see where you fit in. While you're there, check out that Legal disclaimer at the bottom too!

"Talents, like musical and artistic leanings, are non-transferrable, nor are they deemed particularly useful to the future of mankind."

Not accurate. The site is hosted on CCP servers. Watch the status bar on your browser when the site loads...
GTFO of this thread.

@Pachad:
GTFO Massively, you asshat freak.

Amana, now that's no way to behave. I find it reprehensible when folks fact-check with false data. If you're going to take the time to complain, do your research.
Kronos said on 4:25PM 11-05-2009
I wasn't complaining at all, was just noticing something and the "GTFO" was totally uncalled for.

that's a real cool marketing idea. My result was explorer, how about yours?

I also got explorer, which is quite apt as I've gone wormhole crazy since the Apocrypha expansion came out.

All these things [and the fact that my friend works for CCP] keeps making me want to get into EVE, but something just never clicks. I really feel like I'm missing some huge thing that actually makes it...you know...fun.

A good corp :)

That may be it, I seriously tried getting into Eve once recently with the new player experience, but I could never find a corp that was recruiting.

Oh I love this because it is Role playing and really gets into the mood.
also I found it was even more fun after reading the ABOUT, CONTACT & LEGAL info listed for D Labs,
That was a good idea to know the background of this corporation, it makes it so awesome,
I hope they do much more of this or the players and CCP taking it in, I'm sure CCP does that anyways pretty good though.
Was cool how at the end of each vid it explained how you would likely react to it in the actual EVE universe.
About EVE it's more like another world and just act in it like so, plan out your goals and Role Play like pretent you are a real character in it.

If you can't find one of the hudreds of corps recruiting in the recruitment channel or the recruitment thread in the forum, you are unlikely to have lasted long in Eve anyway. It's not for everyone, so enjoy being a spectator.
