Aion announces holiday items for players

The Ascension Pack comes with an extra holiday bonus in the form of four gifts to give your character a little boost and shine up his or her appearance a bit. It contains 20 Lesser Life Potions, 15 Lodas Amulets, 15 Lesser Running Scrolls, and a special dye for your character. You'll get a different dye color depending on where you purchase your Ascension Pack, so you may want to choose your purchase place with that in mind.
- Amazon – Hot Orange Dye
- Best Buy – Mustard Dye
- Game Stop – True Black Dye
- Target – True Red Dye
- Wal-Mart – True White Dye

How about this NcSoft? Get rid of the damned botters and gold sellers, that'll bring you in far more satisfied customers than foisting a few virtual trinkets onto potential buyers.

but, thats nto really fair for those of us who bought it when it first came out. so im gunna miss out on 15 lodas amulets and dye and running scrolls because...i bought it when they wanted me to?

15 Lesser Running Scrolls you can buy off a vendor for like 1.5k kinah, The Dyes, well those are a bonus.
The Lodas amulets, if you bought it early, you get 5, at a random time during the first month, they gave 5 more to all active accounts (aka everyone), and 4 for teh 1 month Veteran Reward. Thats 14 Lodas Amulets. We didnt lose much.

Nice, but do fix the stability and bot issues first; no one cares that much about a couple of dyes, this ain't WoW.

its my belief that early buyers are getting the short end, if a year had passed it would be, kind of acceptable, but so shortly after release?

As another player said, those that bought the game already got one extra week if they reserved it of play time, rich purple dyes, tons of amulets and now veteran rewards.
If you bought the collectors edition you get a title and a pair of good wings as well.

Really? Just a bunch of whiny bit*hes? No comments on how lame it is that Gamestop obviously threw their weight around, or paid/gave NCSoft a bigger cut so they would be the ones to get the black dye? Black dye > all in just about every MMO I've ever played.

I don't think "weight" had anything to do with it. The dyes each retailer is offering matches their respective logo.
Gamestop's logo is mostly black, Best Buy's logo is mostly yellow, Amazon Orange, etc.

I like the idea of giving new players a bunch of EXP items, on of the biggest hurdles i find in getting a friend to play, it the how great of a gap there new char would me to mine. While there is not alot that i miss from my former game, EQ2 the mentoring is one of them.

The dyes are really the only thing you can't get anywhere else. Lodas amulets (4) are given at every month's veteran reward, the scrolls and potions can be bought and NCsoft has stated that people will have other chances to get the dyes, too:
---- "There will be more ways to get these pretty cool dyes (although they may still be kept a bit special), this is just an example (and so happens to be the first we go out with). In other words: There will be ways to get these items with your current accounts, but not through this particular promotion.
