Allods Online closed beta begins today and we have more keys!
Filed under: Betas, Fantasy, Sci-fi, News items, Giveaways, Allods Online
Last week, we announced an upcoming closed beta test for Allods Online, with 500 keys to give out to the Massively readers. Since that went so well (the keys were gone in less than two hours!), we've been given 1k more to kick off the official CBT1, which starts at 2pm ET today. This first stage of closed beta covers levels 1-10 for both League and Empire sides, including all races, classes, and relevant zones. The beta test will run from November 10th through November 24th.
To grab your key, head on over to our giveaway page and follow the directions there. Remember, it doesn't start until 2pm ET today, so you have plenty of time to download and be ready!

Would love to try it but I can't sign-up as they don't accept my e-mail provider... why do companies make it so hard for customers to give them business???

Same thing happened to me.. had to use gmail to make an account there. Also, clunky flash websites drive me absolutely batty.
That said, bring on the beta!

I am hoping this beta goes a lot better than the last beta I was in, and given this game doesn't look like a WoW Clone in it's screenshots, I am willing to bet it will.

Did you say "DOESN'T" look like a WoW clone? I don't think I've seen more than 1 or 2 games that look closer to World of Warcraft's artistic style than this game. Watch the cinematics on the site--from the buildings to the characters to the quest-giver text window; this game screams WoW clone.
This is in no way a knock at WoW's art direction, because I happen to be quite fond of the artwork and style presented by WoW.

Gmail worked good for me too and i had no issues with registering. I didn't notice an NDA, so i hope we get some good coverage of this here. It looks like it one of the few F2P games that might be cool. The whole spelljammer ship thing looks neat. I bet it will be very WoWish though.
We should have a massively meet up in Beta and tear up content and see if its good tonight or tomorrow.

I got a key. Too bad they are having server issues. Looks like they did not have the capacity to get everyone with a key logged into the game.

Again not really sure if there is an NDA, didn't notice one.
Its really impressed me, not just as a F2P game but as a really well polished product. The art style is similar to WoW, but that's not to say it isn't a great looking game, I love the art direction. It certainly isn't shy with using MMO design conventions, but it also adds some new things as well.
Don't right this off as a WoW clone. Its free, its production values are AAA (from my very limited experience) and well... its free.
