Champions Online has a secret
Filed under: Super-hero, Events, in-game, Champions Online
And they're not going to tell you! However, you can probably make a few guesses as to the secret if you haven't already, when you participate in their secret playtest tomorrow. Champions Online Community Team member David "Daeke" Bass posted this interesting piece of news today: "We've got a big feature coming out next week, but we want your help to test it before then. We can't give too many details now..."
When this super secret new feature hits the PTS tomorrow, it will not be as a timed event, so you can log in and take a look at your leisure. Don't have any speculation as to what it is yet? A few simple instructions on what to bring to the party might help. Daeke requests that you bring a 5-man team of level 40 players and interestingly, a Nemesis.
If you want to participate you can either transfer your own characters over from the live server, or level up using the contact outside the Millennium City Powerhouse.
Champions Online promises more information tomorrow -- we can't wait!

5-Hero vs. 5-Nemesis dungeon, perhaps?
Or perhaps just a 5-Hero vs. Nemesis dungeon. Either way, it seems pretty clear what this is going to be, though perhaps they'll pull something crafty.

The last interview for Champions on Massively mentioned 5 Man vs 5 Nemesis Dungeon

That's what I was thinking of when I posted. I don't understand how they can do an interview like that and then be like, "LOL ITZ A SEEKRIT THEYLL NVR GESS LOL."
Then again, I could be entirely wrong and then gee, wouldn't I look like an idiot?

The real secret is they have no players, thats why they have to 'entice' people to their test server. Only game I know that has to offer up goodies to get people to sneak preview / test new content.

I find Cryptic's approach of rewarding players to test far more palatable than the other superhero MMO's approach of closed testing by their favorite players, or outright selling closed test server access (usually followed by the release of a buggy and inadequately tested product). But that has long been a pet peeve of mine with CoX. They never should have abandoned their original model of open testing.

LOL, yeah open testing works so well.
Yet every release folks on their test server complain about bugs that aren't released and how they are ignored, and stuff is pushed live anyway.
LOL
