Win a free year of Age of Conan
Filed under: Fantasy, Age of Conan, Contests, Giveaways
Word of mouth is a powerful advertising tool, and most companies realize this. Quite a few are even willing to hand over some freebies or other incentives in exchange for a good word from their current customers.Giveaway Gamer, a site dedicated to...well, giveaways, is the latest site to jump on this bandwagon, and the carrot on the stick is a year of free Age of Conan playtime. All they ask is that you spread the word about their contest in whatever way you choose: Twitter, Facebook, interpretive dance, mention it on your blog or podcast; it's entirely up to you. Send Giveaway Gamer an email telling how you passed the word along -- links, screenshots, photos, and videos are even better -- and you're entered in the contest.
The contest runs through December 18th, and the winner will receive a year of free AoC playtime and pile of in-game goodies as well, such as the mammoth, rhino and horse mounts. All of the entry information can be found here at the Giveaway Gamer site. While this doesn't count as an entry for Massively, we wish you guys the best of luck!

The "Second prize is 2 years subscription to AoC" comment did make me laugh.
BUT YOU ARE WRONG!
AoC is a greatly improved and very good game now. They really have turned it around 100%.
Should guys should give it a go with te free 7 day trial? :)

Actually, I did. After 2 days of trying to patch it and it STILL not being done, I deleted the whole thing off of my computer. I'm sorry, but a 7-day free trial where it takes that long before you can even create a character? Fail. Sorry.

@Calarius
Well just let it finish patching and create another account. Easy. I bet you installed from the original CD's.
Fail by you by the sounds of it.
ID10T error.

It certainly is a greatly improved game, not least if you have a decent enough computer to be able to run it on maxed settings.

I tried AoC again during their previous free week or whatever it was called. Installed the client, logged in, did some quests and was reminded again why I cancelled my account before.
They may have changed the game, still doesn't mean AoC is for everyone.

marketing strategies like that never ever feel like they're turning off the servers pretty soon... *roll*

Are you that desperate to troll? This marketing exercise is nothing to do with Funcom and everything to do with the website running the promotion (which is all about doing free offers for various games btw, if you bothered to look). How the fcuk does that relate to game servers closing?
*roll* off somewhere else why don't ya... like the edge of a cliff for instance.

I'm always up for free game time, hell I'll play anything when it's on the house but once I read the rules for this....how about no.
