EVE player wins silver medal at the Winter Olympics

Kjetil Jansrud is better known to his friends in "hirr" corporation as "NThraller", the Caldari ECM specialist. As part of Morsus Mihi alliance, he takes part in roaming PvP gangs and full-scale territorial warfare. In conjunction with the news of NThraller's Olympic win, JumpOnContact has taken an interesting look at the demographics of EVE players and MMO gamers in general. According to CCP, the average age of EVE players is around 27 and most players have some kind of degree-level certificate. The EVE community is made up of everything from high-paid professionals to students but did you ever expect to see "Olympic Medalist" added to that list? I know I didn't.

Playing EVE and monitoring your offline training isn't exactly the evidence you need break a stereotype of mmo gamers. Not to mention he weighed in as the heaviest skier that day.
Props to him for a medal for his country though. I wish i could ski like that, It looks MAD fun.

shame really i think,,perhaps a better sandbox would have helped him train better and maybe he'd bringing home gold....so play eve if your happy when you come in 2nd......

This is probably part of some elaborate scam by an EvE player.
Celebrities really should open up about their game addictions. I have an inside source that says that Dave Chappel gave up his show because of his WoW raid schedule.

Exactly. There are far more professional athletes and famous persons in general playing WoW than EVE. This would be confirmed by merely probability. How far up CCP's butt are you guys to be reporting on this as news.

Oh, but its not EvE players that are unfit and demotivated, that type of people plays mostly WoW and Lineage II, anyway. You know, instant self-gratification MMO's.

A.) have a life
and
B.) play MMO's.
No other MMO gives you that freedom.
